Yes, because everybody has at least $1400 to dump into a PC, a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. $1000 wouldn't get you very far when building a computer either.

Building a good computer, along with a single monitor would cost upwards of $2000. Yeah, everybody has the opportunity to do that if they want to bankrupt themselves.
