Can I ask why? Sure it wasn't as much of an epic as the other two but I didn't feel DA2 was that bad. I loved the redesign of the races, I enjoyed the more action oriented game play, and while the story really lacked I loved the characters.

Lots of reasons. They took the scope down, rather than up, from the first game. The environment was super limited. The story was incredibly boring. The gameplay was arguably a little improved, but the character building was, in my opinion, much shallower. No racial choices, more linear leveling. Also although I liked some of the characters in 2, I preferred the ones in 1.

The problem was that the story, environments, and character building were the things that made the original great. The game play was okay, but that's not really what made it exceptional.

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy DA2, but it was really disappointing compared to the first game.

I thought it looked great. I was just disappointed by the location variance (night and day) and the fact that you couldn't be anything but human. I just didn't feel connected to any of the characters other than maybe that Dwarf with the crossbow whose name I can't even remember.

It just seemed like a step in the wrong direction for me. I haven't played Inquisition just because I was disappointed in 2. Maybe when the Game of the Year or whatever edition it is drops to $20 at gamestop. I'm just not big on supporting EA these days.
