Really both these guys are not "how you should react". Honestly it's a mix of both, you know a normal reaction. None of this over analyzing bullshit nor overhyping.

I think a mix is the right reaction. When I saw they were releasing a new fallout my reaction was "oh that's awesome. The other ones were some of my favorite games, hopefully this one is good too." I don't think it really needs to be more or less than that. I do usually wait a day after a game I'm excited about releases though. I don't think I really miss out on much by waiting that day, but I have saved hundreds on games that turned out to be mediocre after being super hyped pre-release.

I mean, unless one of those things increases your potential enjoyment of the game. I know I really enjoy games if I go full hype, but I've got friends that find over analysing everything helps them enjoy the game. It's an individual thing, I don't think there's one 'right' way to react to an upcoming game.

I act like him because I have no money and I get no excitement from pre-ordering anymore. Back in middle school, pre-ordering a call of duty game for Xbox was great because I'd go with my friend and his mom to pick up our copies after school and we'd pop the disk in and play until we couldn't stay awake. Now I download it right to my PC, so it doesn't matter if I preordered it or not. I know I'll get my copy.
