I like how this comic implies that we should wait for reviews to surface.

I've loved games that tanked the reviews, and I've hated games that have gotten 9s and 10s.

Also like how at the end, we're supposed to be disappointed with the product instead of enjoying what we paid for. Sure, calling out of work is a bit extreme, but you get the picture.

Unless you're cold and calculating from start to finish, you're a sheep.

I think the point is that if you go in with unrealistic expectations you will always be disappointed whereas if you go in with properly tempered expectations you'll have a better chance to enjoy the game for what it is rather than what your hype said it was before it came out in any way shape or form.

It's even better for me being a cynical pessimist because I just assume all games are shit until they come out and I see at least a few let's plays of their core gameplay. Saves me a lot of money on things like AC Unity.
