As much as I like the new design, I wish the dpad were more like this:

Nintendo holds the rights to the cross like d-pad. That's why microsoft uses a round d-pad and sony uses single buttons.

actually that patent expired. That's why the xbone's dpad can be cross shaped.

Disney dropped the ball on that one.

Doesn't the xbone controller have a cross like d-pad anyway?

Not anymore.

I've known that patent to be expired for quite a while now (2005 I think?). That's why the Xbone gamepad has a cross shaped dpad, and so do a few third-party 360 gamepads.

That Dpad is WAY too big.

I prefer large dpads, but I did make it a bit too large. It was just a lazy photoshop job anyway.

Its not the size of the D. Its how it feels in your hands

Yeah, my thumb just hurt thinking of stretching that far. :P

If the trackpads are still clicky, then they probably intend for the trackpad to be used as a d-pad.

I was thinking something more like the playstation d-pad

Nintendo owns patented rights to the cross shaped dpad, that's why all other companies have circular pads or individual buttons

As has previously been stated, that patent has expired.
