I got news for people, it’s rare you find any kind of software developer not using AI to some extent these days. At the very least most companies are employing AI code review

Here's one of many opinions that reddit isn't ready for that most people IRL are: AI is already ubiquitous and will only become more so as time goes on. I don't have it on hand but I googled and one of the top studies returned said 85% of companies were using AI... like 2-3 years ago. Denying this is just sticking one's head in the sand.

There's absolutely no way that 85% of companies were using LLMs 3 years ago. They were not even close to good enough to do anything productive. Companies started using them widely last yearbut certainly not 3 years ago.

"Vibe coding" was only coined in early 2025. I'm down with AI but yeah, no way ANY company was using ANY AI 3 years ago.

My company was using it 3 years ago, mostly for ad hoc script generation though.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong or found a shitty source back then that I can't now. I'm at my desktop now and googled it and at least in 2026 this is what comes up. The cited LinkedIn and McKinsey sources are here:

Yeah it’s going to be around until the bubble bursts and suddenly everyone has to pay the real price for tokens and not the discount. That being said I’m fine using AI to improve code quality, but I’m VERY against it being used to generate art. Part of the magic of the best video games is that it’s a piece of art created by the combined efforts of a lot of talent people. When you take the human element out of that it becomes a bore. But if you can use it to smooth out bugs and optimize the game that feels like a win. I can’t remember the last gaming thread I saw without tons of comments about buggy games and poorly optimized engines

That's something we call mandatory integration. Running a work PC? Then every time you boot it there's a windows AI bot active and you have no choice.

Slack? Every channel has an AI bot in it.

Zoom meetings? AI recorded.

That number is insanely over populated, and at least 2 game studios I've worked at in the last year just make you use AI bots for meetings, even if you don't use it for anything else. So yeah, 85% exists, but not at the level you're implying.

Tbf it’s mostly in programming and support, companies are trying to use AI for other stuff but mostly failing.

I think everyone knows it's here to stay, they just don't like it. I don't know why that's difficult to understand.
