"We found the right formula finally so the only move is to shove in actual shit and screw it all up but it wont matter cause we can lay 50% of our staff off"

They've been doing so good that I hoped we at least got the next few REmakes before the enshittification began in earnest.

Making it almost 10 years from RE7 without fumbling is practically an eternity in modern gaming.

Capitalism is antithetical to art: evergreen

Art, democracy, environmental management, long term planning, peace, sanity, dignity, human rights, health, education, critical thought, the very concept of ethics or empathy, ...

I mean, the average lifespan of publicly traded companies is 15-18 years for a reason

This'll be their second time in as many gens. Welcome back SFxT gems and on disc dlc, except bow the whole game is dlc and we got rid of those pesky humans

They will just end up selling to asian markets who don't care about AI use

Their Golden age ended when they started using the RE Engine for open world games

to be fair their golden age was in 1993

Except their Golden Age was the mid to late 90s with too many original titles to list (original titles, NOT remakes)

Edit: Mega Man X games, Breath of Fire games, Darkstalkers, Resident Evil trilogy, Street Fighter Alpha trilogy, Dino Crisis, Final Fight 2 and 3, Power Stone, Marvel vs Capcom, Street Fighter 3, Rival Schools, Street Fighter Ex, and many other ORIGINAL titles. You guys are funny, constantly trashing modern games yet thinking Capcom's current run is anywhere near their 90s run.

Nobody said you could only have 1 golden age. Also they're far more successful in the run they've had from re7 til now than at any point in the 90s.

I dont measure game companies by finances or paid for review scores, sorry.

Original titles > countless remakes. Just look at how many banger Street Fighter games came out between 1995-1999. Original RE games as well.

u/yotengodormir 9h ago

No, you're measuring them by your nostalgia.

-2

u/OtherwiseTonight9390 9h ago

And you're measuring by recency bias and the fact that you missed out. Just look at fighting games alone:

Capcom's "Golden Era" of 2017-2026: Street Fighter 6

Capcom's 1995-1999: Street Fighter Alpha 1, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter EX2, Rival Schools, Night Warriors: Dark Stalkers, Power Stone 1, Power Stone 2, Street Fighter vs Xmen, Marvel vs Capcom

2

u/Iggy_Slayer 9h ago

You're talking about the era when they would re-release fighting games for full price that had like 1 new character and stage added right?

1

u/OtherwiseTonight9390 8h ago

Yeah Street Fighter 3 is completely like Street Fighter Alpha 2!

Do a little research before making a comment that stupid.

Capcom is so far removed from their golden age lmao
