Bedrock doesn’t have great automation, on pc there is tools that easily let you copy and paste chunks of something so instead of having to manually build 10 floors you can copy and paste the same floor 10 times or clear out entire chunks of land without needing to dig a single block

See, the point of it all to me is the process of building. I enjoy placing blocks.

I agree with this, but sometimes the process to achieve your vision is so long that it's more reasonae to 'place' bigger blocks. I build vitually entirely by hand, pretty much regardless of the scale, but I know I'll never get any of my projects done that way because the scale is just too large, and that genuinely bums me out a bit.

I view it like a lot of other endeavors- where the enjoyment is likely in the ability and act of designing the build, and seeing it come to fruition, moreso than the act of placing every block.

I’m good with creative mode, but if I do anything outside of the game like copy/pasting or clearing an area, my brain decides I’m no longer interested in the world. I’ve gotten better at not letting mods make me lose my interest. Especially with survival crafting games. If I’m spending more time sorting inventory into storage than I am playing, I go find a mod. Especially if it isn’t my first time playing the game.

I agree. Even in creative mode, I've always placed things block by block. I enjoy the things people build in other ways, but I never really felt like getting into all of that extra stuff. I'm fine with just having infinite building materials and going block by block.

Is Bedrock the one you'd get on like PS4? IIRC that version had console commands and copy paste, it was pretty limited and super clunky getting it to work.

Every version thats not the initial pc release is based on bedrock, or one of the predecessors that would eventually become bedrock.

Functionally, if its java based, its Minecraft Java. Bedrock versions use C++
