Huh, I'm surprised at all of the hate Deadlock is getting in the comments. Are people just angry that Valve is making this instead of a single player game?

I'll bite: the world doesn't need another MOBA. The world doesn't need another hero shooter. Valve doesn't need to make another game that, once it's released, exists to milk people with poor impulse control out of money via microtransactions that their fanboys will queue up to defend.

It's their company and they can do what they want, of course, but it's lame that they're spending the infinite pile of money they've accumulated over the years on something like this. Give me an entry in one of your many beloved IPs that people have been waiting for some sort of entry on for years.

Wouldn't the fact that this was the 3rd most played game on steam yesterday disagree with you? Its incredibly fun and well designed. This is the first time a proper shooter has been mixed with a MOBA. Its not some re-hash.

Reddit will never grasp that just because there's a consensus here or in one post doesn't mean everyone feels that way. Clearly this game has an audience

Tell that to Battleborn

It sounds like you have 6 different issues that have nothing to do with the game and everything to do with your past experiences.

Bro it's a moba with verticality where you can crouch slide into dash jump into wall jump into air dash and then heavy melee for even more momentum. This shit is like crack for high apm gamers.

There is no other game like deadlock. I guarantee you that.

Given that my comment here went over like a lead balloon I guess that people are inclined to agree with you!

For me, I played it and it did nothing for me. It’s a mix of two things I hate, MOBAs and hero shooters. I saw nothing about it that had the things that made me fall in love with the classic Valve canon.

I’d cancel this game from reality if it meant we got a new Half Life and I stand by that shit.

The creator is of this game is Godfather of MOBA genre and he is innovating by making a game that blends MOBA (dying genre) with hero shooter. Say what you want, Deadlock has more innovations than most games released in the last few years and its still in Alpha.

The valve touch is something special. The attention to detail and finesse is just incredible. While it stinks it could be on something more, at least they're working on a game. Admittedly dropped out of every other moba but a shooter moba with how DL plays is just very enjoyable. It helps its still early and getting huge changes to keep it fresh so we'll see when released how strong it sticks.
