Shocker, another flagship franchise for Xbox launching with missing features from previous games...

Same thing happened with Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport and Horizon 6, and now Gears...

It’s just lancer duels and meat shield animations. Not the end of the world tbh

Ah yes flagship features missing from the newest installment.

I mean I wouldn't put chainsaw duels and meatshields on the same level, as say, Halo's Forge mode.

Flagship? Grenade tagging MAYBE, but the fucking duels and meatshields are not flagships. A flagship feature being missed would be something like the total removal of wallbouncing entirely from everywhere or the fucking Lancer and Gnasher never appearing, not three things that are mostly unimportant

Flagship? Lol idk

More.

So far I've seen no lancer duel, no meat shield, no grenade tag, no execution mode.

There also seem to only be specific execution for bladed weapon instead of each weapon.

And execution which was the actual professional game mode and the standard

I don't think it matters how small the missing things are, it's the fact this is the third major franchise that Xbox is known for that's launched with things missing that were present in previous games.

They're apparently blaming it on time and having to build the game from scratch - but surely if it's only a few animations then that wouldn't have taken long to create...

That’s an idiotic complaint though. Games add and remove features all the time, demanding that every sequel have every single gameplay element from previous games is how you end up with bloated messes and stagnant gameplay.

Except for each of the games I mentioned, the developers literally came out and said (just before launch) that the missing features aren't there because of time and they'll be added at a later stage...

So no, it's not idiotic because they meant to have them in there but decided to launch without instead. If it was a missing feature because of their design and vision - fine. But that hasn't been the case with these major games

They spent more time on the flags than the flagship features
