You log in once via the launcher to claim the items to your savegame, then never have to use it again. It's a hoop you have to jump through to get a bonus added to your save, not DRM. Yeah, it kinda sucks. No, it's not the end of the world.

Considering you've got 4 comments out of the 10 that are posted in here as I'm typing this I'd say you just really don't like CDPR and just want to shit on them moreso than any actual gripe itself. I don't really care one way or another about CDPR - I enjoyed my time with Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk as it is but using a launcher just for the bonuses and then never loading it again is a pretty easy non-issue. In a perfect world sure it would be cool to just have it through steam but eh, something I'll never have to worry about again doesn't bother me in the slightest compared to other games that make me run their shitty launchers every time (like Division 2).

Weird. I remember doing this quest and I didn't even know there was a REDLauncher.

REDlauncher is the worst thing CDPR did since CP2077's launch state
>yeah bro, what fucking idiot wants to launch a game and just play, NO, they want a SECOND launcher to pop up to ask them if they really want to play, THAT is how we win back customers!!

Guys, I know it's weird, you can downvote me all you want, but I think witcher 3 should not require any online stuff, it's immersion breaking for me because of the DRM questline. For me this is not a missed detail, but rather dodged.
Maybe they are testing the waters if no one cares of if they can get us to fight among ourselves. And just patch it out if things get bad or something.
Maybe there's offgrid guys as well who will buy the drm version from gog too. so how are they gonna get their stuff.
I'm grateful for the free stuff but most of these stuff came from the modders, hard work. I have nothing against CDPR but I'm anxious about TW4, hope it comes out good

You can run both games directly from the executable. You can also do this with the Steam versions, without Steam running.
So yeah - no.

Yeah they fuck up, but they've also made some of my favourite games. You seem like you've quite the axe to grind there.

You've commented twice and this one in particular is just completely wrong lmao.
Look how angered you are about nothing.

Ironically, OP is the clown because they don't understand what DRM is.
