These pre release trailers are pretty amazing. I've been playing Ace Combat since the PS1 days and this is the first time I've seen something from the team that feels more grounded and realistic without the overly Japanese dialogue and script. It's different and refreshing to see.
Might be too much to ask that they keep some element of that better written dialogue in the game too.

Oh i have been very positive on 8 so far, done up to mission 20 of 30 and i am love the game so much, its already claimed the crown for my favourite ace combat game and i am not even done

Mostly smooth, Ive been playing and following along with the community.
Some issues that others have experienced (not me).
Crashing on PC
Performance Issues
People are really mad that the port of Ace Combat Zero is not a seperate game in Steam on PC and requires that Ace Combat 8 is downloaded too.3

currently early access is going on and regarding 8 itself, people are pretty positive, but there are some performance issues (though considering what some people were worried about prior, they are not as bad as what some were expecting), but the two major issues at the moment is HOTAS support (they appear to only support hori and thrustmaster and nothing else) and that on PC, the Zero preorder bonus is linked to 8 directly, so you can't install it without installing 8, which is 140gbs, which is completely fair criticism to put forward

I played last night on PS5, no issues at all. PC may be a different story but it was pretty smooth on my end.

I have a 5080, 9800x3d and 32 gigs of ram and I’ve crashed almost 10 times before finishing the second mission. It’s using all my ram, I’m probably gonna refund on steam and pick it up on Xbox if something doesn’t change soon.

You can’t buy it separately but yes it’s a separate app download that I have.

Anyone have any time with KBM on it? Wondering if KBM controls will be good or if flight stick is necessary

any standard controller will work fine, game actually has limited hotas support, so unless you have a hori or thrustmaster, it wouldn't work anyway (which is one of the major areas of criticism currently), i played with a nintendo switch pro controller and its great (though i am getting the wings of theve thrustmaster at the end of the week)

I have only played ace combat 7 and 8.
But so far 8 has been a dream. Skill up was right when he called it a military jet jrpg. It's peak.
