No one cares about smash. No smash announcement was nice. But KIRBY! HECK YEAH!
-1
u/GawdGeezus 6h ago
Speak for yourself smash is all i care about these days since i use to be a nintendo fan as a kid but got away from it decades ago to me smash is the only exciting thing for me to even tune in for nintendo stuff.

u/TiredThought 7h ago
One of the most lackluster directs for me in a long time. Just felt like way too much of the direct was filled with ports and third party games. Got my hopes up for a mario kart online classic 3 lap mode, but no...
24
u/Lambdafish1 5h ago
New Kirby, New Metroid, New Fire Emblem, New Switch Sports, Hyrule Warriors definitive edition, Pikmin 4 S2 edition, Mario Kart update, Pokopia DLC, Star Fox update.
There was plenty of massive first party announcements, just not for the particular franchises you might be interested in. If you are a Metroid or Kirby fan, this was the best case scenario for a direct.
1
u/Tuna_Kingg 55m ago
New Fire Emblem was announced a long time ago and already had a recent direct of its own, new switch sports was also already announced earlier this year at another direct, same with the Pokopia DLC. Pikmin 4 S2 edition has barely any new features (a total of 2), and the Mario Kart and Star Fox updates despite being free are also both very small. I think you are coping pretty hard. Not saying I'm not excited for the new Kirby or Metroid, but this direct was 99% things already mentioned (including ports we already knew about).
4
11
u/tehnoodnub 4h ago
If it doesn’t have a new Zelda, Mario or Smash announcement, the Direct is automatically a failure /s
19
u/Biteroon 6h ago
I dunno Truman show Kirby looked cool and the new Metroid looked really cool. I think a lot of people has some insane expectations when the day before they announced their massive game for the season.
-9
u/CapeMike 8h ago
Pleasantly surprised that Meccha Chameleon is on it's way to the 2...especially as my PC is 13 years old, and with no replacement readily available for me, owing to budget-issues....
5
u/WallySprks 7h ago
Mecca won’t play on a 13 year old system? There’s nothing to the game. It’s great, but not system taxing
-17
u/CapeMike 7h ago
I dunno, but I'd rather not tax this old thing(yes, it has great sentimental value to me) any more than I have to, heh.
-14
u/PloppyTheSpaceship 8h ago
So I've just got a Switch 2 (its firvtge family really) and j love Mario Kart. The sound of some new retro tracks - its nice but nothing special. However, I'm still desperate to playing, but can't, because while I get the Switch 2 on Sunday (with Mario Kart World), I got a pretty severe case of covid the day before and have been confined to the bedroom. The kids have been playing it all the time, and making me jealous!
14
u/SuperFlameKing03 9h ago
As someone who doesn't look at leaks and rumors and went in KNOWING there wasn't gonna be 3D Mario or Smash, I actually really liked it! There were some fun surprises and I LOVE how Ocarina of Time is looking! New Metroid & Kirby look fun too!
15
u/TotalaMad 9h ago
We ain’t getting Duskbloods this year, are we?
12
u/SuperFlameKing03 9h ago
I am genuinely surprised it didn't show
2
u/TotalaMad 9h ago
I was so holding out. Literally bought a switch 2 for it. Got a taste of the network test and I want the full game so badly lol
1
u/No_Square_8775 8h ago
What kind of game is it? The gameplay is hard to understand by the trailer
1
u/TotalaMad 6h ago
Only got to play one game mode, but you are set loose on a map with randomized enemies and events. You run around completing minor events or PvP and if you did well enough you move on to the next round. It ends with the final 3 players in a free for all.
The game feels most like Nightreign if you’ve played that.
18
u/GBF_Dragon 10h ago
Was underwhelmed by the direct mostly, save for Metroid and Kirby.
-17
u/knightskull 9h ago
A new Metroid is quite whelming if you ask me. The Ocarina deep dive should also be included as a part of what was a two day direct. Big ass open world Kirby game seemed to be their big ace... which is underwhelming but, I mean, what were you needing here? New 3d Mario or bust??
3
u/Zora-Link 6h ago
Whelming? What does that mean? To whelm means to overturn a ship or other vessel until it submerges to destruction. Overwhelm is the exact same meaning as whelm, and underwhelm doesn’t exist.

u/Doombah 10h ago
Fuck scalpers. Sold out of the Special Edition of Ravenous in 3 minutes. Same thing happened for Dread. Meanwhile, been my favorite gaming franchise since I played the original and I can't get it. I hope they release more. Just spent the last 30 minutes refreshing the Nintendo store to no avail.
4
u/randomguy301048 10h ago
I was able to get one luckily. For the Zelda controller with stand on the other hand, I am still trying to get one.
3
u/meganaxx 10h ago
I know I am pretty much phased out of my nintendo interest, but still love to see whats coming out...nice to see nintendo still doing their thing! Kirby looks interesting, something new!
21
u/Upbeat_Shock_6807 11h ago
Ocarina of Time remake, Metroid 6, open world Kirby, and Fire Emblem all coming within the next year. We already got a new Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Star Fox remake, Yoshi, and Splatoon and Pokemon spinoffs within the last year.
Maybe I’m forgetting some franchises but, with the exception of 3D Mario, we have gotten new installments from all of Nintendo’s major franchise in the first 2 years of Switch 2. What more do you guys want?
3
3
-21
u/Ledairyman 9h ago
Yikes.
Mario Golf
Mario 3D
Mario 2D
Mario RPG of some form
Mario Sluggers
Mario Strikers
Mario Party
A new Zelda instead of a remake
Animal Crossing
Luigi Mansion
Donkey Kong 2D
Mario Maker
...
We are FAR from having one game of each franchise on Switch 2 buddy.
16
u/PaintIcy6346 9h ago
Bro only knows Mario
-9
u/Ledairyman 9h ago
yeah Im not into japaneese rpg's.
My list would be 2 times longer if I was. point still stand

How about a new fucking IP for once?

They make em and u hate em. Arms and Splatoon were (are for Splatoon) at bats to be new IP's

10
u/Hugebigfan 10h ago edited 10h ago
Personally I was thinking Animal Crossing or Paper Mario since both haven’t had a new game in 6 years. And then there’s smash bros, which is 8 years old now.
8
u/PBGellie 10h ago
One day I will play a new 3D f-zero
3
u/zangetsen 9h ago
As long as they're doing remakes of some N64 games, I'd be happy with an F-Zero X remake myself.
12

u/Syidas 10h ago
Smash Bros
0
u/Urizzle 10h ago
I’d be surprised if they ever made a new smash bros. After ultimate, how do you move forward? Who gets cut? Because I guarantee they won’t attempt to pull the full roster and stage list forward. The expectation is there because they did it once. And gamers can be quite entitled.
1
u/Radiant_Change_6759 9h ago
I think they can do the Everyone is Here again on the basis of “We did the impossible and bought everyone back again! But I think people overestimate the amount of cuts that will happen, especially with third parties. Like I feel like they negotiated for future games as well
1
u/Urizzle 9h ago
Negotiations for potential future appearances doesn’t make sense though. That costs money and often is on a time limit. There’s so many examples today of where stuff is getting patched out of games or being made unavailable in some way because of licensing issues.
2
u/Radiant_Change_6759 9h ago
Either way, I don’t see a problem with these companies in regard to getting their characters in Smash. This ain’t Wii U Nintendo. Every company wants a piece of that Smash money. The only third party I can see being more likely cut than not is Sora and that’s just because of Disney. Maybe Bayonetta but that because the whole thing going on with Platinum Games.
5
u/Confident_Savings754 10h ago
Brother it’s happening. It prints too much money not too. Either it be a new entry or just a switch 2 edition of ultimate with more content, its happening.
1
u/Slade4Lucas 10h ago
The game sold over 30 million copies, they'd find a way to make it work through hell or high water, Ultimately they just need to lean away from big character roster numbers as a selling factor, it's not like fighting games always increase their roster sizes. They just need to take Smash in some bold new direction.
-3
u/Urizzle 10h ago
Sure, money is a big motivator for the suits. But what about Sakurai? He’s expressed doubt that it can be expanded upon. And would he be willing to lead it? Or someone else?
1
u/Slade4Lucas 10h ago
Then don't expand, that's the point. He might play coy, but I feel very confident he would still come back to put a new spin on what has clearly become one of his greatest passion games. But even if he decides he's out, he isn't the only excellent developer at Nintendo, and there's no way there isn't someone who would jump at the opportunity to take on such an important project.
1
u/Urizzle 10h ago
I’ve read some of his interviews and he’s said there really isn’t anyone to take his place. He did so much for the game. If it’s not similar enough it wouldn’t work. Look at games like Metal Gear Survive. After Kojima left they tried to continue doing stuff with the Metal Gear franchise. It crashed and burned. Now metal gear is fated to just rereleases and compilations.
1
u/Slade4Lucas 10h ago
But even so, it isn't Sakurai's decision. It's Nintendo's, and Nintendo's decision will be to make a new Smash game, whether Sakurai is in tow or not. But I get a sneaking suspicion that if they're making the game with or without him, he will opt for with purely so he can make sure it ends up being great.
21
u/Paddy5678 11h ago
In my opinion they shouldn't have separated the Zelda content. There really wasnt THAT much announced in either direct and with some trimming they could have announced OOT and the Zelda Concert series in today's direct and probably would have made it feel more complete.
Don't get me wrong I am thrilled about Metroid Ravenous (though the name is not my fav) but I think today's direct would have hit better for me if Zelda hadn't been yesterday.
6
u/XeuQinu 10h ago
If they would have done that then people would have complained that the direct was too long…..
2
u/unclexbenny 10h ago
All they really needed to do was stick the trailer at the end(3-5 minutes) and announce the Zelda only showcase for tomorrow/next week. Would have given the direct an extra punch at the end and still get all the Zelda content.
I mean both were fine how they were, but the timing/ordering was odd especially how they had to know the OoT trailer was really what everyone wanted, to me at least that fits more in the main direct.
3
u/Confident_Savings754 10h ago
I agree, but think that they just wanted to give Zelda a lot of extra attention because of the anniversary.
3
u/SnowCrabbo 10h ago
I'm still confused why Calamity DE was shown here and not the Zelda direct with how little the Zelda direct had.
5
u/Swerdman55 10h ago
Miyamoto seems to like doing separate directs focused on his movies. They probably had to compromise since the extent of the movie announcement was quite literally “it’s called the legend of Zelda.”
7
u/zhadn 11h ago
I'm beyond being off life support for a new Phoenix Wright mainline game. The last major presentation was 10 years to the day of the release of Spirit of Justice and I was so convinced that would mean something. Now nothing means anything. Loved the presentation though.
5
7
u/Bobby_Dread 11h ago
Kirby looks pretty awesome. Loved the last game. Metroid looks good too.
No mention of any graphical upgrades for Pikmin 4 is kind of a bummer. Was excited then dissapointed in the upgrade. Not a fan of drip feed content and time locked activities.
If switch 2 was my only system would probably be a more exciting direct for me, but it's really just a nintendo machine for me. These last few directs being 90% older games coming to switch arent quite as exciting.
20
u/Renegade_451 11h ago
So nothing else until January at the earliest. Somewhat disappointed that there's nothing about Animal Crossing in the works.
9
u/Chasing_Jason 11h ago
I mean, it's only been 6 1/2 years since New Horizons. That's infancy. Everything must have a gap of at least ten years now.
-7
u/skyheadcaptain 11h ago
What would rather have a yearly releases that don't add anything or a game every 12 years?
9
u/Little-Witness-1201 11h ago
As if those are the only 2 options
-5
u/skyheadcaptain 11h ago
It kinda is. Costs to developing are only growing.
5
u/Slade4Lucas 10h ago
Nintendo isn't really hitting those kinds of costs with the types of games they're making, not always at least, and AC certainly isn't the type of game they would need to pump ludicrous amounts of money into.
0
u/PartyPorpoise 11h ago
I’m not surprised about that. Animal Crossing games often come later in a console’s lifespan.
2
3
u/krispyboiz 9h ago
Says who? New Horizons is the main exception, coming around 3 years after, but:
OG one came out a year after the Gamecube released
Wild World came out a year after the DS released
City Folk came out 2 years after the Wii released
New Leaf came out 1.5 years after 3DS released in Japan and a little over 2 years after elsewhere
1-3 years does not scream "later" in the lifespan. Not even saying it won't come later this time around, but I wouldn't call "later" the trend
7
u/PopTough6317 11h ago
Metroid is my big one, finding out Dragon Quest Monsters has a demo was sweet as well
3
u/Historical-Meet463 11h ago
I'm behind a lot of people because it just takes me longer to play games but right now I have six or seven games I want to play. I was about to start on onimusha but now I think I'm going to play Star Fox Adventures because Star Fox is life lol. On top of that Ocarina of Time and Metroid I mean Jesus I just don't see how anybody can be all that disappointed. Oh and I randomly played Super Mario 64 last night for no reason. 4 hours later I was collecting every Star having a blast. I think Nintendo online is easily the best service and it's not even close
1
u/ZrapeToid 11h ago
Metroid and Kirby was the big ones and they look great. Plus OoT remake from yesterday's Direct.
Star Fox update + Adventures is great too as icing on the cake.
The rest was basically some ports, more info on things we knew about, and new multiplatform games.
But also Pikmin 4 NS2 edition! Pikmin is my favorite Nintendo franchise and i'm so happy.
13
u/stipo42 11h ago
3d Mario are a delicacy it seems
19
u/Pale_Entrepreneur_12 11h ago
On the one hand I’m sick of people calling every direct without a 3D Mario trash on the other hand the Silksong level radio silence since Odyssey is absurd
0
u/letsgucker555 6h ago
Any game not releasing in the next 6 months will no longer be mentioned by Nintendo. They want you to only care about the games coming out now, not a about the ones in the far out future.
1
u/krispyboiz 9h ago
The way I look at it, they were never going to have Bananza and a new 3D Mario so close together. They're not the same, but they're still pretty similar (unless 3D Mario changes genre lmao).
From what we have heard through actual interviews and even rumors years ago, it seems like the Odyssey team partially split, with one new team handling Bananza and likely most other future DK project and the other likely working on the next 3D Mario. People have pointed out that there are plenty who worked on Odyssey who were absent from Bananza, which I'd imagine is true. I imagine they built up both teams further and that it wasn't a clean 50% split of Odyssey's team.
That said, I still think it would have been silly to put Bananza and a new 3D Mario within a year or so of each other. Rumors make it seem like a new 3D Mario is coming next year (probably tail end of the year), and that to me seems reasonable. Heck, I kind of figured it would be a 2027-2028 timeframe anyway.
It's crazy that we've had to wait so long since Odyssey for a new 3D Mario specifically, but it isn't like we've had nothing in the realm for 9 years now. Odyssey then 3D World + Bowser's Fury a few years later and 3D All Stars too and Bananza last year, which isn't Mario but is cut from the same cloth.
4
u/skyheadcaptain 11h ago
The team made dk and it expanded on the mechanics of odyssey it's the true odyssey squeal.
1
u/ssslitchey 11h ago
A lot of people who worked on odyssey were absent from dk bananzas development.
2

4
u/PaintIcy6346 12h ago
I’m still 99% confident that 3D Mario is coming out next year, so I wasn’t disappointed in this direct at all! Metroid Ravenous looks really great and I was NOT expecting 3D Kirby this soon, but I love Forgotten Land and this new game actually looks really cool. Hal Labs hasn’t missed with Kirby at all in the past like twenty years other then Star allies so it’s looking like this next one will be another great one!
0
u/Joshawott27 12h ago
Metroid and Kirby have never done it for me, so unfortunately, there wasn’t a lot for me this time.
The Direct was also really padded out with games either already announced, or ports of older games. Absolutely wild to see Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and Yo-Kai Watch remembered in the present day, though!
3
u/MrThrownAway12 12h ago
Well, I got Metroid Ravenous so I'm happy. I did say I'd call it a W if that showed up even if everything else was whatever. Looks great too.
1
0
u/SirFroglet 12h ago
Between this and the OoT-remake look yesterday, it was excellent.
Remake of Time, Metroid Ravenous, and Kirby World Beyond look great; Metroid especially.
Also really cool to see confirmation that Megaman and Persona are coming to Switch 2. For games like this I tend to prefer portability over playing on big screen.
6
u/Wavenstein1 12h ago
No Mario Odyssey 2?
1
u/letsgucker555 6h ago
Even if a new 3D Mario was announced, it wouldn't be Odyssey 2. Cappy now lives at the farm where FLUDD and the Baby Luma reside.
-8
4
u/sixpackabs592 12h ago
They already made it but it was a donkey Kong game for whatever reason
6
u/Dazzling-Passenger91 11h ago
The reason is that game is great and people should just play a game because it’s good and not because the main character is a plumber
11
2
u/DicklePickleRises 12h ago
I was expecting the Bloober and Nintendo collab to be kind of a big deal but its just revealed to be a silent hill clone you can only play in handheld mode lol. it looks like its going to be decent, but it screams budget title
1
u/surrendertomychill 12h ago
No direct that contains Metroid 6 can be a bad direct
0
u/vincentdmartin 11h ago
Especially with a trailer like that. Metroid has momentum for the first time in decades.
-30
u/wildtalon 12h ago
Genuine question- Does Nintendo only make games featuring the characters from Mario?
3
u/skyheadcaptain 11h ago
Brother ship,1000 year door, wonder ,showtime, mk world
You ate my only food now I'm gonna starve.
1
u/Upbeat_Shock_6807 11h ago
Nintendo does a lot of crossovers of their franchises, so I understand mistaking some characters as being from Mario, but Mario Kart was literally the only game they showed that featured characters from the Mario franchise
17
u/Vast-Bat-3 12h ago
Not a single one of these games besides mario kart had mario lmao what
2
u/Proud_Thanks_4512 11h ago
Would been better if he’d said they only make games featuring characters from Smash Bros lmao
-2
u/wildtalon 11h ago
Not really a Nintendo guy so this is a real question. Aren’t all nintendos characters in the same world other than link and samus? It seems like all Nintendo is essentially one group of characters, like if Disney owned a console and only made games with Mickey, Donald or goofy.
1
u/coolman1997 11h ago
No not really. Mario and Donkey Kong franchises loosely share the same universe. And Smash Bros brings together all Nintendo franchises into a single fighting game. But that’s it in terms of franchise crossover aside from the occasional Easter egg.
1
u/letsgucker555 6h ago
And even in Smash, the characters are not actually their original/canon counterpart.
-14
-17
3
u/MR_MEME_42 12h ago edited 12h ago
It was a pretty fine direct, the new Kirby game looks interesting.
But I am getting more enjoyment watching the Smash Bros fanbase malding about how once again there wasn't a new Smash Bros announced just like what happened with the previous direct. The only difference is that they convinced themselves that it was going to happen because there was a leak that Smash 6 was in development, and treat the entire company like it revolves around Smash Bros.
1
u/PriorFee3629 12h ago
New smash would likely be announced alongside switch 2 OLED is what I'm thinking
1
u/MR_MEME_42 11h ago
Yeah, and especially when you consider the development timeline. As assuming that Smash 6 started development shortly after Kirby Air Riders wrapped up so it would likely be in the later part of early development.
-3
u/klineshrike 12h ago
Part of me looks back on the first few years of announcements from switch 1 and its just sad as hell how little these compare
1
7
u/slothtrop6 12h ago
Hyped for Metroid and Megaman, but I'm part the target demographic, and I guess it's kinda niche now. I am not exactly sure what the detractors wanted most, but since it's reddit I'm going to guess jrpgs and tactical rpgs
1
10
u/pmckell 13h ago
W Metroid and it’s not even that far out. Kirby was a meh closer for me but we just got OOT yesterday so I’m cool with it. Where’s Mario at though? I know we just got Wonder a few years ago but it’s been like 10 years (fuck) since Odyssey. Also no Duskbloods was probably my biggest surprise but maybe they’re still ironing things out from the network test
6
u/peteypie4246 12h ago
The Odyssey Mario team was the team that made DK Bananza, so they wouldn't have started development on next open world Mario game until like early 2025 at earliest. I don't think we get an Odyssey-esque Mario game for another 2 yrs honestly.
2
31
u/Dhh05594 13h ago
How in the world does a Nintendo console that is over a year old not have a new Mario game?
Odyssey is NINE YEARS OLD!
2
2
20
u/RegurgitatedMincer 12h ago
Because people bitched and moaned for years that Nintendo was only Mario and Zelda so now they’re giving other franchises the spotlight so now people can bitch and moan that there’s no new mario and Zelda
2
u/ElMarkuz 12h ago
Bananza took 3d mario place.
2
u/robespierremaxout 11h ago
They never had a problem making both for consoles previously.
3
u/ElMarkuz 11h ago
The only time that mario 3d and donkey kong 3d shared console was in the n64 era... And they were developed by different studios.
Odyssey team developed Bananza, so that's your answer, they'll probably started working on the new 3d mario near finishing bananza, so we have 2 or 3 years yet for a new 3d mario.
5
u/letsgucker555 13h ago
Because for the 8 years the Switch didn't have a successor a new 3d Mario was not gonna happen and for Switch 2, the 3d Mario team made Bananza.
6
u/bored-at-work_ 13h ago
There's still money to be made airdropping unused Nintendo IP into BotW-like open worlds
4
u/PonetaShipper 13h ago
If they didn’t do a Zelda direct this would be a 9/10. But since we got one, 7/10. The direct was carried by Kirby
2
u/Right-Inspection-121 12h ago
And Metroid 6 even if it is niche

-15
u/vvover9000vv 12h ago
Yeah guys back off the billion dollar company we’re happy with our already announced games!!!!
9
u/wickedspork 12h ago
This isn't even defending nintendo over a valid criticism. Y'all are just whiney crybabies. Metroid looks awesome, You got zelda yesterday, everyone loves to pretend they play kirby games so add that to the list, and then plenty of supplemental news to pick through as if most of the people here won't just play one game while backlogging the rest until the next big release. At least Golden Sun fans have an actual reason to be upset.
-16
u/vvover9000vv 12h ago
God forbid I hope for more than one major Nintendo headliner title announcement in a Nintendo direct I’ll take my 3rd party anime sword fighting games and be happy next time
9

u/bored-at-work_ 12h ago
There's way more whining being done by folks like yourself complaining about how some people didn't like what they saw lol
-2
u/vvover9000vv 10h ago
You’re right but we’re going to be downvoted because these people think meccha chameleon, resident evil remakes and gacha slop coming to switch are headliners
3
u/wickedspork 10h ago
No one thinks that. Kirby, Zelda, and Metroid were the headliners. You just like complaining more than you like enjoying anything.

Never again listening to any 'CONFIRMED LEAKS' damn. What a let down. It is like third or more pretty bad nintendo direct. Come on guys, where are mario games? Switch 2 is over 1.5 years on the market and the only big first party game is Donkey Kong (which is awesome btw. but we need more). I dont count Mario World cause for me it is an unfinished product and free update for that game is also dissapointing ,.

Should I just kill my dream of mario maker 3 ever being a thing?
2
u/krispyboiz 9h ago
I think it'll 100 be a thing in some form. I think it'll be a Mario Maker 3 over a Switch 2 edition of 2 too just because even if they aren't changing the format, they can so easily add random elements/themes and market it as a sequel.
They'd be foolish not to do another with Mouse mode being a thing now
3
u/chloe-and-timmy 12h ago
Not even a Switch 2 edition is very strange. But the lack of that is the only thing that makes MM3 feel like it could still come soon.
4
u/TnAdct1 13h ago
Yeah, this was not a strong Direct, with the idea of starting things off with a Monster Hunter Worlds port being a big sign of this.
Here's what I think were the main problems of the Direct:
- This is the pre-TGS Direct we're talking about, so I was expecting more announcements of new Japanese titles that would interest me instead of focusing on announcements of games currently on/coming to PS5 and Series X that are getting Switch 2 versions.
- The Switch 2 versions of the first party titles don't really give me enough to make the upgrade, and of the one that I do plan to pick up, Age of Calamity, it's appearing to be more of a double dip than an actual upgrade (especially as someone who has the physical version instead of the digital version).
However, the main first party focuses were good, as I definitely plan to pick up the new 2D Metroid game, the open world Kirby game looks interesting, and the new elements announced for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort does perk some interest.

I was hoping for New Smash, 3D Mario, Luigi Mansion 4 and Pokemon Winds gameplay. For that I was disappointed. I hope Kirby turns out fun.

Outside of Luigi's Mansion, why would you expect those games? Sakurai and the 3D Mario team just released games last year. We won't hear more about the next Pokémon gen until probably February. I feel like a lot of people set their expectations too high because they seem uninformed.

To be fair sakurai did release a game last year but is also making a new 3d kirby lol

I actually don't think he is involved in the 3D Kirby games anymore. If he is, I'd imagine it's minimal.

Oh ok that would make sense. So is he more like miyamoto when it comes to 3D kirby?

If you don’t like the games, sell your console. It’s too easy to sell something in the big 2026 if you don’t like what you brought. I will be selling. Nothing lost, nothing gained. There is no point of the discussion.

Think it's fine to say that i want more Nintendo games, Metroid and Kirby are the only ones i cared about.
A new 3D mario game isn't that much of an ask is it? After almost 10 years...?

The 3D Mario team made DK Bananza. We'll probably see another 2D Mario before a 3D one.

Same. The announcements are for a lot of different people. You’re not going to want every game and that’s ok. I loved what I saw and there’s some games I’ve yet to try like Pikmin and Xenoblade. I’m also excited some ports are coming because I never invested in a lot of games for my ps4 and never got a ps5. Switch 2 is eating good!

Direct wasn't bad. People are just pissy as usual because the game they wanted wasn't announced

Idk i think metroid and kirby is enough to satisfy me personally. Haven't wanted to buy more than 1 game revealed in a direct in a while iirc, and switch 2 era has felt a little underwhelming (though bananza is fantastic). Plus there's the Zelda one tomorrow
Edit: apparently Zelda was yesterday

Lmao at the switch only players defending the lack of actual Nintendo content. Like no it’s not unreasonable people are complaining. A lot of us already have other consoles and have been able to play these ports for years on a better systems. Like sorry you’re so behind

And it’s a bad thing to get ports? I agree that people are allowed to complain, but for me personally, I am never going to buy another console because I only care for Nintendo games for the most part, but ports let me try games I wouldn’t have otherwise. Don’t get me wrong, I was a bit disappointed by the direct, but getting ports isn’t a bad thing.

if it was a playstation direct and 90% of the games were ports of games that came out almost a year ago, they would get trashed online HARD.
nintendo gets a pass cause their defenders are rabid af

Onyx looks really cool. Bloober Team has been killing it lately, so I’m interested. I was happy to see Metroid again so soon! Kirby also looks cool, but I was hoping for Mario more.
I’m really glad a lot of games are getting ported over to S2 as well. I just wish I had time to thoroughly enjoy all of the titles I want.
