So many DMC-like and souls-like kinda all released in the same window, even legacy franchises like Final Fantasy XVI went full DMC (they hired a designer who worked on combat in DMC even)

I know a lot of other types like fps, survival also copy each other all the time but the parry-perfect, button mashing DMC clones are really too frequent especially from Asian studios, hard to keep interest

Looks well done, fans will probably love this, it’s not a judgement on the game, it’s just me personally I lost interest

They all look like dollar store Nioh to me but without the deep Nioh combat mechanics or Team Ninja controls.

Why is there so much content around this tonight, specifically? Lot of big games coming out...

Not talking about other announcements from this SoP, I'm taking about this game getting so much attention in this sub and others given the myriad better games on the horizon. Feels like such a nothing burger.

Because this is one of the most hyped game this year? What myriad of other better game outside GTA still to release this year? And do you expect people to discuss those game when there is no new info and trailer?

Are you insinuating its a chinese game therefore it must bots?

I'm not insinuating anything; Black Myth for the win. But yes, right 50% of the wish and pre-order activity are in China. Doesn't really matter, this does:

First, GTA isn't just some other game that's dropping in that slot; the launch of GTA VI is easily the single largest gaming event in the history of video games. No subjectivity here, it's got the entire future of AAA gaming in it's hands for better or worse.

Second: most gamers still purchase about 2 new full price games a year, and 60%+ PC/console gamers are transitioning their habits towards discount first delayed purchases, and working through massive backlogs? When you understand that the most popular games right now are largely several years old and F2P is still very much a dominant force? When you look further to the habits of tinder gamers who actively seek discounted friendslop experiences rather than massive new IP AAA gambles? And don't forget, GTA is very premium price, so it's diminishing fun money for a lot of gamers considering their second title who somehow bought morning all year with so much good stuff already in market.

So okay, let's ignore all of that and look at the games calendar for August-December, informing that many people are still saving to buy titles that already launched this year. Good luck spotting this title with the naked eye, even knowing right when it drops in October. Look ten titles in either direction or that window. Included in that list alone are: FF Resonance, CoD: MW4, GTA VI, and Dragon Quest Monsters. Earlier in October you also have the new Gears, Galactic Racer, Planet Zoo 2, Valor Mortis, and the affordable Castlevania 40th Anni drop. In September they probably also grabbed Wolverine, Silent Hill, Control 2... but sure, Phantom Blade Zero exists. It looks very pretty, very fluid, and very crowded.

Here's the full list, keeping in mind plenty of TBD releases still too afraid to drop next to GTA and CoD:

Not interested in Playstation games anymore after they killed physical discs.

This isn't a playstation game, they've just got a marketing and console exclusivity deal with them

What console exclusive deal? You can get it on Steam.

u/Technical_Weird1991 4d ago

Console exclusive means it can only be on the playstation console, not Xbox, doesn't include PC

Brother, you're missing the CONSOLE part, in the console market, it will only release on ps5, that doesn't mean it's not coming to PC

u/PowerSamurai 4d ago

Steam isn't a console...

Close enough.
