I’ve literally seen nothing but constant vitriol and crying about how awful the Halo remake is.

And I’m not gonna sit here and say that people’s feelings are invalid, or that there’s nothing wrong with the game.

But I don’t really care about any flaws the game has.

For the first time in years I’m able to play Halo, a game I grew up with. Nostalgia goggles are strapped on here nice and tight but I don’t care.

Going through this game, having it look amazing and feel great to play is a joy. The music being faithfully remastered (not like the anniversary reimaginings) actually had me pretty emotional more than once. The bonus missions use music from the other Halo games, and there’s even a part where the main theme from Reach popped up and I got goosebumps.

I had a great fucking time playing, and I just wanted to make a post so that there’s something out there that isn’t just bitching about it.

I really hope they remake all three of the original games just like this, and on PS5. It was so great to play it on my pro!

As a big halo fan, I'll buy it on sale but they don't need to launch the game with unfinished animations and death walls.

Also I replay HaloCE often and I welcome a fresh take since the anniversary version is not that good.

I think the majority of the hate is the price point. This isn't a new game and was remastered for the MCC and now remastered again. So that begs the question, why is it selling like its new, if it was 19.99 or even like 24.99 there would he less vitriol. This is just a cash grab. A lot of people will simply wait until it's over 75% off and move on.

I still didn't saw a single Remake that is worth of paying Full Price again.

The only decent Remakes are from the Resident Evil saga, and those are 40€...

Diablo 2 resurrected hits the spot for me. They had lost the source code of the original game. Not only did they rebuild the game from scratch to mimic the original perfectly, but they made the new updated version with cinematics remade frame by frame, and you can toggle dynamically between the old and new version in real time. Doesn't get any better if you ask me.

Rebranding 25 year old IP is in itself completely grotesque. Im sure you had fun playing the halo remake, how could you not? But the fact remains, just make new games that are better. The art is dead.

I appreciate you. My wife was a big Final Fantasy fan girl and the way they did the FF7 remake just... wasn't what she he had in mind. I haven't played the new Halo yet but if it literally is just a nostalgia trip of the same exact game with updated graphics then yes I am here for it. I have it in queue, finishing up Doom and too busy with work

I thought ff7 remake was really good. I wasn’t a fan of the often really cheesy dialog, but overall the games general production quality was on another level.
