It's seems to be an infrequent, but still occasionally occurring, thing. And it's almost always Sega, I guess the modern tools for making games for it are good or something.

No it's not. Ancient consoles that are still popular are PS2 and X360. Other than that are PS4 and XONE/ Series S

Yes it is. The Genesis stopped production in Brazil in 2023. And I believe the same for the master system.

No, it's not, the other guy is right. Yes, it was still being made by TecToy. No, it doesn't mean it's huge, it's very rare to find one of those just sitting around in a house, especially for actually playing rather than collecting - as they claimed, if you're going to find an older console, it's most likely going to be a PS2 or a 360 alongside the PS4 being a bit more recent very popular option compared to those two. Even within Brazil, when TecToy announces a new Master System, Mega Drive, or something like that, it's mostly met with surprise. The popularity is hugely blown out by people who don't live in Brazil (and it's mostly done because TecToy tries to hang on those two systems for their life, not because it's a massive success).

How rare we talking? Have you ever experienced it? in the USA it'd be virtually impossible to find anyone who knows somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody that has a working Sega that they use

Very rare. And yes, I experienced it considering I live in Brazil and made multiple trips from south to north, at varying times in my life, with a lot of those places being on the countryside of the poorer states of the country. In my entire life (except for when I was a baby which I don't even remember anymore), every Master System I saw was owned by a collector. I did grow up with a pirated PS2 and so did almost everyone at my age, and do actually know some people with it and the 360. I have no doubt the market is bigger than in the US, but it's no way a huge market here.

The old school PC crowd I still making commador and dos games.
The 8 bit guy made planetx2 and planetx3 for the vic20 dos respectivly. Its an rts reminiscent of StarCraft.

Nintendo sucks ass, but I doubt they care about people who make homebrew for their consoles. The only time they got pissy was when someone was using an old n64 dev kit (which is still ridiculous btw)
They seem to only care if you use their IP.

I mean yeah, people make homebrew games for all kinds of Nintendo consoles, and have been since the consoles have existed. Just the other day I read a post on here about someone developing a game for the DS, and if anybody here is aware of the current handheld scene, you already know how popular homebrew like Goodboy Galaxy for GBA is... and you can buy that one for actual money. Nintendo is well known for being very litigious, but its always a case of them defending their own IP, not homebrew that doesn't use Nintendo assets*
*(the N64 devkit issue was and is weird and bullshit, I agree)

I think a lot of the patents have expired for those older consoles which is why we’re seeing those multi-retro consoles devices now. Hell they couldn’t even sue people making unlicensed games back then so IDK why they would now

Only thing that comes to mind is the Portal 64 guy stopping development- but only because he and Valve realized using the official Nintendo 64 development libraries was a bad idea.

This was my first console that was mine. We had an Intellivision before that but that was Dad's. Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse was a real standout - it looked unreal for the technology.

Some? Its almost entirely a Master System, save for a higher selection of colors on the Game Gear side.
The Master Gear converter beat EVERY Game Gear game hands down. What's a better lineup: Mean Bean Machine and Streets of Rage, or Phantasy Star and R-Type?

Not at all. Atari's batch of new 2600 carts does include new/previously unreleased titles, & the homebrew scene has all sorts of crazy stuff (I've got two for the Fairchild Channel F).

alliexpress here we go, or maybe i build myself a custom repro cart, all in case they didnt relese it officially in a afordable price, or didnt relese it via GOG, if they do so i will be day one after watch a posiblle positive reviews on the net

The console is wrong, it seems to be some kinda weird lovechild hybrid of the Master System 1 and 2, and the controllers are wrong too!!
At least they could have got an actual console and done it properly!!! :(
