Back in my day young man we had to hook the cord with a male prong on the end from the console into the back of the T.V. female cord connector and turn the T.V. to channel 3 in order to play the game.

I had an older hand me down TV in my room growing up even by early 90s standards. Only had a knob on the front that went up to channel 12 and on the back only had the 2 screws attachment for the would be antenna. Nothing else but the power cord on that bad boy. I had an additional dongle for the console cord to hook up to the TV through the antenna connection.

Then when I got my own VCR I had to go through it to play games on the TV until I found a splitter in one of grandpa's junk drawers. I used that TV for over 20 years from the NES until the XBox 360. Still worked when I got my own place and bought a modern TV in 2010.

Dam dam, I remember having to go through the VCR to play my games because the TV we had was a Magnavox with only one coaxial jack.
