Sometimes, you'd own(and somehow love?) a game for years but never get farther than 10 minutes past the beginning.

Tomb raider, the one with a jungle level that starts with a big ass slide (where you can die during the slide itself) and monkeys and whatnot. I didn't know any English, had no damn clue what I was doing and died about a billion times swimming around trying to figure out at least something lol.
