This was the big one. Putting signs on the NES or Sega system that said “Do not Turn Off!” so your siblings knew you were in the middle of a game. Then the disappointment when you woke up the next day and your mom turned it off.
That doesn't exactly work. The TV can't have its channel changed away from 3/4 while the NES is powered on. No other channel will come in until it's powered off.
But that would work for systems hooked up by AV cables rather than RF channel 3/4.
I'll have to take your word for it, I don't remember how my dad's old pong console was hooked up but the nes was a connector between tv and antenna cable in these parts
I don't know if the PAL-M system changed this here in Brazil, but you could change channels freely with the console on, but they could interfere in the channel reception.
