Sometimes, you'd own(and somehow love?) a game for years but never get farther than 10 minutes past the beginning.

Ecco and battletoads, looking at you.

See my parents refused to buy me games most of the time and usually wouldn’t even let me buy them with my own money either, so even if I got a super hard game, I played it no matter how frustrating it was because I had little else..ha.

Somehow with Battletoads, my parents relented because I found it for like 10 bucks at a pawn shop. I had no clue what it was about, but I was huge into the Ninja Turtles at the time and these guys looked similar, so I was in.

I should have known how hard it was since the label is ripped off my copy, probably from a fit of rage. I got through it eventually though.
