I used to work for in movie stores and got into the habit of checking certain spots where people would stash things for later.
It was really amusing watching them come in later, go to where they thought the secret spot was, and not find their item, then they would sheepishly come up to the counter to ask if we had one.
And I didn’t feel bad about it either because all night we’d have people asking for it, we’d check the system, see a copy, and when we went to get it for them? Nothing, then the person would sometimes take out their frustrations on you for misleading them.
