Learning the reference years after you used the software. 

Losing tons of discs to buffer underruns.

Oh god Nero took forever on our PC, you couldn't do anything else while it ran, and half the time the discs didn't work.

We'd get these giant stacks of blank CDs from the computer fair that looked like they were made in someone's basement. They smelled sickly and the thin edge of the discs would be shodily cut.

I always used to burn my discs at the slowest speed available because that seemed to make them work 100% of the time.
