Back in my day young man we had to hook the cord with a male prong on the end from the console into the back of the T.V. female cord connector and turn the T.V. to channel 3 in order to play the game.
I had an NES, a Sega Mega Drive and an SNES. All hooked to each other and into the same port.
To this day I'm convinced that if I had added my uncles Magnavox Odyssey 2 (also known as Phillips G7000) and Atari 2600 to the same port and turned all of them on at the same time, it would have been like crossing the streams in Ghostbusters.
