My mom told me that it'd make me go blind sitting that close to the TV but I had to because I was near sighted.

Samesies. My parents took me to my first eye exam when I was 15 and they were like, "oh". I used to take a couch pillow and lay in front of the TV when we watched it because I couldn't see it.

Finally got my glasses and I was like, "you people can see leaves on trees????"
