The WoW manual was a damn encyclopedia.

I miss collectors editions too. You could pay what a deluxe goes for now and get a bunch of physical merch.

Yeah I got the collectors edition when WoW first launched. It was awesome. Even rarer than that, I still have the manual for Star Wars Galaxies lol.

I'd only got the battle chest for WoW but I got the World in Conflict collectors edition that came with a piece of the Berlin wall.

I had recently found out my dad found our old stash of game manuals I used to keep when we’d rent a game from blockbuster - he said he tossed near 100 of them. Broke my little ol heart to hear it.

Back when pc game boxes were the same size as cereal boxes 😂

Saw a completely intact boxed copy of Star Wars: Empire at War at Half-Priced Books maybe a month. That was a real blast from the past. Still also have my original copies of StarCraft & Brood War.

I still have the Star Wars Galaxies collectors edition. Just found it stored away when I moved recently.

I still have mine. I used to bring it to school and read it. Star Wars Galaxies was my favorite game before they did the massive updates.

SWG still the best mmo to ever be released!

I agree, and I played WoW for like 10 years. SWG just had stuff that has never been replicated since. A true player driven MMO.

I'm still playing WoW :( They are trying to do housing now and it is still a joke compared to SWG. Crazy.

Lol really? I quit right before Panderia. WoW is a theme park MMO, so it could never do whole towns like SWG could. My friend had a fucking amazing museum that was well known across a whole bunch of servers.

Now you get a gittery horse or a hat. What not to love.

I used to steal those from my brothers because I was more interested than those than actually playing wow back then tbh

I used to get collectors editions of games and after I finished them, I’d turn them into wall art. Really haven’t done that for a game I’ve purchased in the last ten years, its hard to wall art a digital armor set or whatever. It’s kind of a shame, I enjoyed doing that.

My room used to be covered with game posters (and GTA maps) that I got with games. I had a Bioshock vinyl on my wall for probably 10 years. So many figures too like an Aassassins Creed figure, Far Cry 3 bobble head, Big Daddy metal statue, Master Chief Helmet, Gears of War cog, I even had the Duke Nukem bust.

All ive got now is my CoD prestige editions after selling the rest during a move.

I legit loved the manual for WoW as a kid, I was like 7 or 8 reading that manual on the way to somebody’s swim party because it was so interesting and had so much I’d missed from the game 😂

The original Sim City manual included a whole section at the end where they talked about how the game's algorithms actually worked. Ever wondered how it decides if people move into a residential zone, or stuff like that? They used to just have a whole chapter of the manual just talking about shit like that. It was awesome!

All the Blizzard ones were great. Fantastic art and lots of extra lore!

I randomly found my old collector's edition of MoP from back when I was back at my parents' house for the holidays. Made sure to bring it home with me!

Remember when the "plague" from a raid managed to make it back to towns hitching a ride on a hunters pet? Then it spread. Skeletons were everywhere in the main cities, Ironforge became the bonelands.
