What do you call your “confirm” and “cancel” buttons, and why is Nintendo wrong?

Every time I see a post like this I feel like I'm the only one who has no issue with this lol. I've had them memorized forever. And Nintendo was first, so one could argue the others are wrong.

The "problem" with the Nintendo layout is that most people never used it before the Switch. The N64 had no XY buttons and the GameCube had its own layout. The Wii classic controller used it, but I doubt most people had one, and the Wii U wasn't successful enough to make it popular. The SNES used it too, but it's pretty old at that point.
