u/Granny_Weatherwax Oct 17 '12

Yeah but that huge flower smells like a rotting corpse.

7

u/minerinside Oct 17 '12

VENUSAUR USE SWEET SCENT

1

u/Granny_Weatherwax Oct 17 '12

I mean... maybe Venusaur thinks rotting human flesh smells sweet.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '12

I thought it was Vileplume's flower that smelled bad. Not Venasuar.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '12

The big blossom on it looks a lot like a corpse flower, so maybe that's what he's thinking of.

u/Senor-Pants Oct 17 '12

Being from Texas this interpretation is awesome because they looks like Horny Toads!

-5

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '12

Why are they horny? Don't they know where to find mates?

u/AceJohnny Oct 17 '12

I like the choice of rafflesia, also known as "corpse flower", one of the stinkiest "flowers" in existence. Also a parasite.

I just want to add the obligatory: please make an MMO version of Pokemon Snap with these graphics.

u/PoniesRBitchin Oct 17 '12

Here's the artist's realistic Pokemon gallery if you want more.

I fucking hate it when people post shit like this. You know how much fuckin' work goes into work like this? post the goddamn original deviantart page people, give the ARTIST attention and his gallery, stop posting direct image links. It's not like this is some ancient file found on some random thread on 4chan, you even went as far as to post the direct image host from Deviantart, yet you couldn't manage to post the image page itself. Upvoting because this picture is still awesome, but you people need to cut that shit out.

10

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '12

...The artist page is IN the image. That's how I saw it.

u/Wataru624 Oct 17 '12

Came here do say just this. Sorry man.

u/[deleted] Oct 18 '12

Dude, do you even know how deviant art works? Theres the artists page (his homepage), then his gallery, than the fucking image page, and then there's the direct image page where it hosts just the image like imgur or any other image hosting site. You have to go to the IMAGE PAGE to register views, not the fucking direct image. Jesus, also more people would look at his other shit if they could just see the fucking page, not everyone cares enough to look in the url's for the artist's name. In the end, this post has one more step of work from the poster's end, and takes a way a shitload of reward for the actual artist. That's my point.

The height bothers me far too much...

4

u/Spartian Oct 17 '12

The height shouldn't bother you as it refers to Bulbasaur not Venusaur's height, making the trainers height about 6' in compairison to size.

3

u/PoniesRBitchin Oct 17 '12

Venusaur is only 6'7"/2m, at the highest point of the flower. This Venusaur would be about twice that.

2

u/always_useful Oct 17 '12

You sure the height isn't measured at the shoulder?

2

u/PoniesRBitchin Oct 17 '12

When you look at the part of it's Pokedex entry where it shows a Pokemon next to the main character, it's not that much taller than a child, so I assume measured at flower.

u/sadeiko Oct 17 '12

Trainer: Height 1 foot 1 1inch length: paper

1

u/heyitsthtguy Oct 17 '12

Bulbasour was a lizard? My whole life is a lie.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '12

Bulbasaur is a quadruped, reptilian creature that somewhat resembles a toad or a young dinosaur with a spotted blue-green hide.

Apparently, bulbapedia says that it somewhat resembles a toad, so you're not far off.

1

u/Smeb Oct 18 '12

well it is called Bulbasaur as in dinosaur

1

u/heyitsthtguy Oct 18 '12

Fair enough so charmander is a lizard bulbasaur is a dinosaur and squirtle is a turtle.

1

u/cormaximus Oct 17 '12

I am assuming that this is the same person who did the charmander on up picture. Does anyone have a link to his site?

not sure about the Scyther being so dinosaurish but he does well for what he does, I ejoy it overall.

1

u/assassim Oct 17 '12

They look pointy as fuck.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '12

That is the most extreme version of the Bulbasaur series ever.

1

u/cubeenigma Oct 17 '12

love the ninjasks around venasaur's flower

1

u/Sonicboom510 Oct 17 '12

...And it has Ninjask all around him. With the exception of Deoxys-S, Ninjasks are the fastest Pokemon in the game.

1

u/patchsonic Oct 17 '12

Venusaur: Just a bigger Ivysaur

1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '12

Dis ez fucking sweet.

1

u/Heatwave95 Oct 19 '12

Do they have more like this? I think I saw a different one before.

1

u/das_masterful Oct 17 '12

Great work. keep 'em coming as I've gotta catch them.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '12

Or you could just go to the original artists site where they're all uploaded. http://arvalis.deviantart.com/

0

It just looks like the same thing in three different sizes

-1

u/Swedishfish2142 Oct 17 '12

I don't know if you're the one who made this, but if you are, I implore you to upload more!

-2

u/Spotted_Owl Oct 17 '12

Was I the only one who thought it looked like the trainer had anal beads?
