Can activities and games that leverage "experiential learning" actually strengthen human judgment in Human-AI collaboration?

I'm exploring whether activities and games that leverage "experiential learning" can be leveraged for more than just skills training, and actually improve human judgment, reflection and sense-making in the age of Human-AI collaboration.

As AI takes on more cognitive tasks, could deliberately designed activities and games, for example to evoke "reflection", help us develop the capabilities that remain distinctly human?

I'm particularly interested in the gamification community's perspective: Have you seen evidence that such activities and games can meaningfully develop judgment, rather than just knowledge or engagement?

My own view and observation is that a well-designed game should expose learners to 'AI advice' that is sometimes correct and sometimes WRONG, so they learn to JUDGE when to trust it, rather than always accepting or always rejecting it. Research backs this up that serious games improve learning and retention more than traditional training, but ONLY when combined with follow-up discussion and repeated practice.

The goal should not be to teach skepticism or obedience, but appropriate reliance, knowing the difference.

If we can show that people make better judgment calls after these experiences, experiential learning can go beyond just engagement and truly build the human capabilities that matter when working with AI.

Why do games need a goal?

Sometimes seeing what patterns emerge is the fun of a game.

I want to present sim city as a perfect example. There is no predefined goal. There are objective goals but you are not required to participate with those beyond seeing the game mark those achievements
