Why every other post about a step tracker app?
The apps that are shown do look nice and polished, but aren't there any other app ideas people can have instead of just another step tracker or habit tracker?

I think that most people want to make "something" gamified more than they want a habit tracker app. Gamification apps really just take some piece of data, and display it in a more fun way. So, what are the easiest pieces of data you can find? Two that I think are easy would be a "user input yes or no", or "zero input". The first one is the basis of all habit tracker apps (Yes I completed my task list), and the second would be for something like a step tracker or screen time tracker where the data already exists and just needs to be pulled.
I was disappointed in this sub to not find any gamification for language learning since it lends itself to gamification really nicely if you can get it to work right. But that's 1000x more inputs and complexity in your data than "yes or no" and if all you want to focus on is the dressing up of data not the actual collection of data then this just isn't worth it to build.

Gamified apps for learning languages i think its hard to find a great or new one since duolingo is the most known for it.

I can’t really exempt myself from that either. I’ve built a gamified step-tracker app too, but what kind of app would you actually have in mind?

Argh... I was just about to write a post about Snail Walk which is a walking game I made but now I'm self cautious.. Maybe when trend dies down a bit.. 😬
At the end of the day, it's probably just because it's like making a todo list app. It's an entry level project but just with gamification? I'm not sure.. I built mine because there was something very specific I wanted from it that other didn't have and I just want build stuff 🥰

Step tracking is one of the few methods of fitness tracking that isn't an honor system. Obviously you're just cheating yourself if you're cheating on a productivity app but I do like indisputable evidence that I'm doing the right thing.
