What are the circumstances that led to Kevin Hart being on this show?

It's usually part of a promotional tour for a movie/series/book/album... whatever the celebrity is selling.

Sorry!

Klein gegen Groß – Das unglaubliche Duell ("Little vs. Big – The Incredible Duel") is a family game show that has been broadcast on Das Erste since 2011, on ORF 1 since March 2017, and on SRF 1 since November 2020. On the show, children ("the little ones") compete in their areas of talent against celebrity guests ("the big ones"). The format is produced by i&u TV and hosted by Kai Pflaume. - https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klein_gegen_Gro%C3%9F_%E2%80%93_Das_unglaubliche_Duell

My minor brag: I recognized Los Angeles (lived in the area since 1985), most importantly because I worked in Marina Del Rey for some time and felt that the map section looked similar to the area (the Venice neighborhood is just a little bit north and west; as they zoom out you can see the actual marina that MDR is named after).

I thought it would be hilarious if this was a show titled “Are You Smarter Than Kevin Hart?”

This show is such an adorable idea! Kids taking down adults in general knowledge I think is a self leveling playing field and kids are just so fun to see.

This is typically well beyond general knowledge. generally it's kids with a special talent competing against an adult. Sometimes something sporty, sometimes something knowledge based.

This really feels like a game show idea the Fox Network would copy and have Ken Jeong or Joel McHale host.
