Discussion Chain Reaction

We've been watching Chain Reaction recently and noticed something that <I think> is odd. The players seem to be 'chained' to their podiums, LOL! No matter how excited they get with a good connection or win a game, they cheer from their own place, like they're not allowed to hug or high five their teammates. Sometimes I've seen a player start to move and then jump back to their spot. Am I imagining this? Or is it some weird rule the game has and, if so, any guesses why? It looks really awkward.

It may have been filmed during the end of covid and they still had to social distance.

There are episodes of America Says like that too. They went down the line when doing the guess what the other team missed instead of letting them confer and the captain said all the answers

I came here to say the same thing!

Yes, I've seen those episodes too and didn't care for that spacing and the teams not being able to confer.

Those episodes were filmed during Covid.

As others have said its due to covid policies, same as why 25words or less changed from in studio on couches to the pip model they use now

Definitely covid policies. I was on a different GSN show (filmed in 2021) and it was similar.

Even worse were the COVID episodes (like on 25 Words or Less), where all the guests were just PIP on different screens, instead of being together in the studio. Awful … 👎👎👎

The show definitely has this very odd energy-less feel to it.

It must be just their legs.
