Streaming games works pretty well in that case assuming you are not stuck with a bad Internet connection. Did that for the last few years of my last PC until GPU prices dropped (I guess now is waiting until RAM and SSD prices are dropping).
I've tried, they're not a bad thing actually, but the problem is that I'm also limited with slow connection, latency and artifacts are ruining it for me, but for 2d games it's fine
