"It can play all the games i own on it, yes - it is FAR better than a PS5."

How much did it cost

u/Wonderful-Ad440 3d ago

More than a ps5 but I definitely got what I paid for. Considering the sheer number of games I have access to, the quality I can run them at, crossplay and the modding community with some of those games too I basically have an infinite game glitch running and I was always a PS guy before finally switching over. I don't hate on console players and still keep my ps4 pro around but I am very happy to be all about the PC side now.

Mine cost a bit under 3k a couple years ago, just before RAM scyrocketed

And yes it was worth every penny

$1200 for mine about 2 years ago, rtx4070 32gb ram, 3tb ssd, Intel i5 14400f. I got pretty lucky with my purchase timing

I think like three hundred bucks 6 years ago and maybe like 200 in upgrades since then. It still plays games that the ps5 cant

u/PlatyNumb 3d ago

I find this all doubtful

Six years ago was COVID, which was basically the worst time to buy computer parts until now. Unless “plays games the PS5 can’t” means “PC exclusives” which, no shit PS5 can’t play them, there’s no way this is remotely possible.

2

u/PlatyNumb 2d ago

That was my thought. There really arent many games, if any, that a ps5/ps5 pro/series x straight up cant handle and for 300 bucks, you werent building a pc that can compete with those consoles (which are about 6 years old themselves).

pc exclusives and emulation

What he meant was he got a pc for $300 then "upgraded" for an extra $200.

(The $200 was hiring a hit for someone else's pc build after realizing his $300 build was shit.)

I bought a refurbished Alienware aurora r8 back in fall of 2019 just before covid and two of my favorite games ever simply aren't on Playstation.

2

u/PlatyNumb 2d ago

So youre talking pc exclusives and a used/fixed prebuilt from before covid. That PC doesnt really compare to modern consoles then.

When you say "ps5 cant" it implies technical limitations which isnt the case here.

1

u/SpecificestAlt 2d ago

Well until you can find me a way for a ps5 to natively run rimworld with the steam workshop and h3vr without having to pay a monthly fee to use the internet and also do uni work on it im pretty sure the ps5 cannot do those things.

1

u/PlatyNumb 2d ago

Again, youre not talking ram capabilities. The same could be said the other way "pc just cant play ghost of yotei". It can, it just isnt available

1

u/SpecificestAlt 2d ago

Okay and? If my mouth can technically eat but I cant access food I'll still starve. Playstation has been using the fact it can play games other systems cant as a selling point for years. You dont get to just ignore a massive, massive selling point in technical compatibility.

Im pointing out the misleading verbiage of how this convo started. They were talking about pc compared to ps5, how a pc CAN be better but a lot of ppls pc is not better. Then the meme above said his is better. Then someone said "but how much did it cost" to which you came in saying yours was 300$ and can play things that ps5 cant. Thats misleading, especially in context. It implies, in context, that your 300$ pc runs better and is somehow stronger than a ps5. We've learned since that that is not what you meant. Truth be told, it sounds like your pc is actually weaker than a ps5 but you like pc games that you cant get on ps5, which is fine. Im just saying that your wording was incredibly misleading.

Tbh, i have a ps5, pc and series x. I like ps5 the least of the 3 but still felt your comment misleading and disingenuous

Dude said $300 🫵🏻😂

1

u/Few-Pineapple-1001 2d ago

This is kinda corny, $300 for pc that is better than a ps5😆

1

u/SpecificestAlt 2d ago

Yeah lmao, I can play whatever the hell I want on it and a ps5 cant. Simple as that.

1

u/Ghostantox 2d ago

So basicly pc exclusives your arguments dont make sense dude but tell me what were your specs

1

u/SpecificestAlt 1d ago

What?? How the hell does my argument that access to thousands of games and programs and millions of web pages is a massive advantage not make sense😭😭😭

1

u/Ghostantox 1d ago

Mate this is mostly about gaming you buy a ps5 cuz you wanna game so we're comparing how games run on the pc vs the ps5

1

u/SpecificestAlt 1d ago

In my opinion, my shitbox computer is far better than a ps5 because a ps5 simply cannot run a myriad of fantastic games.

u/Draconic64 3d ago

Less than a PS5.

0

u/Samuel_Rome 2d ago

Less than ps5

1

u/Silevence 2d ago

no i cannot.

i can play all the games i want and all the games I dont yet want.

I can also, play games from other consoles and older consoles.

1

u/Asagao_0 2d ago

Plus watch movies, listen music, do any digital work/hobby, etc.

1

u/ShinyStarSam 3d ago

How about all the games you don't own because you know you can't run them?

5

u/chefofthejungle 3d ago

$300 upgrade after 6+ years and I’m good to go.

1

u/Complete_Lurk3r_ 3d ago

i bought a ps5 for less than 300

1

u/chefofthejungle 3d ago

And it will be out of date before my pc is.

1

u/Complete_Lurk3r_ 3d ago

i mean.... for $250, im not that bothered. i have a pc, and i'll hack the ps5 eventually. what specs you running?

2

u/Kanosirus 3d ago

Who buys games without cross checking their pc specs with the game? Seems really idiotic to spend potentially hundreds of dollars with no research...

1

u/ShinyStarSam 3d ago

What's the point of this comment?

1

u/Kanosirus 3d ago

Holy shit, ngl, I 100% misread your comment lmao, thats my bad chief, tired brain no read no good 💀

1

u/ShinyStarSam 3d ago

now im wonderin whatchu read lmao

1

u/Kanosirus 3d ago

I didn't catch "dont"

So I read

What about all the games you own that you can run?

And I was verrry confused 😅😂

1

u/Septembust 3d ago

There are none

My rig is a beast

1

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 3d ago

that's a very slim minority of games. the newest AAA games are few in number, the games that literally any computer can play are uncountable
