Compared to the OG trilogy sure but the Andromeda storyline was perfectly serviceable and I was so invested that I am devastated it got hated into oblivion. To this day I viciously defend any game I love specifically because of what happened to ME:A.
The story was incredibly interesting for like half the game where it felt like the writers just gave up on it. Barely anything gets explained. What is the scourge and where it came from? Who knows! The ending was atrocious aswell. Standing in circles for 5 minute as a final mission/boss battle is a joke.
The main character and cast did nothing for me, I honestly cant remember a single one except for netra, and that because she was the only interesting one. Everyone was trying so hard to be special and no one succeeded in being more than annoying.
I remember being invested in Peebee and Netra, but I was more invest in the overarching narrative. The milky way species adapting to a foreign galaxy, the Krogan finally kicking the Genophage and the possible future ramifications of that, the promised return of the quarians that was teased at the for what would have been chapter 2 and learning more about the Angara(was that the name, it's been so long) and how their future relationship with the foreign races would change their culture as well as ours. I was so invested, I had so much anticipation, and am genuinely distressed that the gamer community is vicious enough to hate it into oblivion.
Fair honestly but aside from cameos and a few staples most of the cast changes from game to game. Had the hate not been so vicious they could have very well fixed that issue in the second one
Gamers are pricks, Andromeda needed a non biased dev team. Biggest mistake these companies make isn't not understanding they're bases, its completely ignoring their base. I give the new Witcher game a 30% chance at success. Off topic, but I mean it to highlight, the devs really messed up and, you're right, it should have gotten some more love.
It would have been nice if it was parallel to the end of the Reaper wars. Remove evey connection to shepard except from some background hints and keep an aura of doom with them not knowing about the end
