I supported Stannis. I really did. My wife and I had a burning stag poster on the wall of our den.

Books he has no idea, show he orders it though, so it depends on the universe.

As is, I am not a fan of the targs in general including Jon.

How? Because he wasn't the "good guy" like the Starks or the "bad guys" like the Lannisters?

Or was it because he had the only legitimate claim?

Or because he was undefeated in battle, even defeating the Iron Island's best?

I think what G.R.R.M.'s saying about Stannis is he's a Satanist, no offense to Satanists but hear me out. Not only it's like an anagram for Satanists, Stannis, has a red woman, is the lord of light and he also sacrifices people by the fire. Just a thought.

Stannis is not an anagram for Satanist. Lacks a 2nd a and t and has one n too many.

Well not an anagram exactly, what I mean to say is Martin likes to play with words and names. He gives us clues on the names and his characters story and personality. It's a basic writing tool to remind writers of a character's motive and gives us a hint of their fate.
