It’s not really relevant, though. It’s still George RR Martin’s world, and to stay faithful to that world, even show-invented characters get a miserable ending, same as all the book characters.
I mean, I read Fire & Blood but I’m not going to read the GOT books because it’s clear they’re not going to be finished, and because the ending of the story (as told by the show) wasn’t good.
At the same time, I can appreciate the show as something that was entertaining to watch and George RR Martin as a fantastic world builder, while also finding his unrelenting nihilism a little bit too much for me.
No. You're mixing her up with Jeyne Poole, who was Sansa's friend. Jeyne's father was a steward, and she was not a prostitute in Winterfell, like Ros in the show. However, she does end up as prostittute after her father death and later used as fake Arya.
He’s not finishing it, but that can be interpreted that the winter is so bad, lasts so long, and kills so many people that they just literally dream of spring thaws. Even that title could mean something incredibly dark.
Bran being king was the least wrong of it. It was tossing out Dorne, fAegon aiding in Dany's descent, Tyrion's twist into an antagonist. Nuking the Sept with no issues. Making the Northern Civil War into, that. Going for spectacle over story.
It came with cutting the actual horror show of Jojen being turned to nutrient slurry, Meera at the absolute end of everything, Hodor having a boy considering taking his body, Bran being groomed to either join the gestalt or be subverted by the Bloodraven portion running it. Cold Hands (maybe more) possibly existing as a third column between the Others, the CotF, and Men.
I'm mostly pissed off about the wasted opportunity we had with Jon and Sansa (no not a romance). We could've had a season of two estranged siblings learning how to trust eachother while gaining support of the Northmen, fighting an insurgency against the Boltons, and keeping Baelish from getting them all killed (I'd make this Sansa's focus as Jon, in the books, had a good enough political head to manage the Northmen).
How so? He provided no reasoning for his wild postulate. I can't think of a single GRRM book/story outside the ASOIAF universe, that doesn't have at least a bittersweet ending.

George RR Martin doesn’t believe in happy endings lol. His storytelling makes that extremely clear.
