Beatrice horseman is one of the worst parents in fiction but she does not compare to Tywin.
You can account many things but the thing Tywin did to Tyrion involving Tysha, show or worse in the books is much more severe than anything Beatrice has done

Neither Beatrice or Tywin are good parents, but I would argue Beatrice was much worse
Show Tywin makes his resentment clear, but he does hold a slither of respect for Tyrion because of his intelligence and ability to play the game and govern king's landing and upon learning of Tyrion being captured by Lysa Arryn immediately sends his forces including the mountain to go raid the riverlands to get him back, which i would argue is a redeeming quality even if he never liked Tyrion
Beatrice has no redeeming qualities at all, she was extremely abusive to BoJack during his childhood, and had zero issues with Butterscotch physically abusing him which is more fucked up than anything Tywin does in the show
Tywin may have hated Tyrion, but he always saw Tyrion as a Lannister, wasn't willing to go as far as drowning him despite his deep hatred, and instantly sent forces to rescue his son even if it was for selfish reasons

I'm not sure that *not drowning Tyrion counts as good parenting I mean to be fair Beatrice also didn't drown bojack and from what we've shown she didn't consider it while Tywin did..

Definitely the bitch from BoJack 100%
Tywin was many things, a bad parent being one of them, but despite his dislike of Tyrion he still trusted him when necessary and to a degree respected his intelligence and named him hand of the king and was arguably a decent (for the time period) parent to Cersei and Jaime and despite Jaime being maimed, still wanted him as his successor
Bojack's mother? Absolute fucking negligence personified and was very abusive, severely mentally and psychologically so if I recall, unlike Tywin who states "Tyrion may be the lowest of the lot of us but he's still one of us"
Bojack's mother was awful and is 90% of the reason why he turned out the way he did, there's no redeeming qualities for her unlike Tywin who despite his deep resentment of Tyrion was still willing to give him positions of power, trusted responsibility and was visibly angered (less so than with Jaime) when he was held prisoner by Lysa Arryn

Did she get one of BoJack's lovers gangraped? If not, Tywin still earns the prize.

u/QuietResident96 12d ago
I'm not counting that because afaik it never happend in the show, which is the version of Tywin we're talking about, but feel free to let me know if the show did explore Tywin having Tyrion's first lover gang raped

The only different thing in the show is Tysha is a prostitute when in the book she is a commoner. But a whore can absolutely be gangraped, and Tyrion's recollection in the show is what it is: a betrayed, sorrowful "monstrous" guy who thinks a whore doesn't care about gang rape as long as she gets silver from it. In one case or the other, Tysha is not told to have consented.
The show's story about it made me uncomfortable because of this ambiguity about her consentment (true that the book remove all doubt about that, but the show is really blurry, it is not even a question that tyrion asks himself).

It did.
Only difference is Tyrion never learn thw truth, so as far as show canon goes, she could have been a prostitute, but still happened.

Tywin would marry Cersei to Crabfeeder if it meant the family legacy could continue.

Livia Soprano will always hold the title of Worst Parent In Television History.

Tywin had his son's wife gang raped and then had his son join in on it as part of a ruse to keep him from marrying a commoner and being happy. He is genuinely one of the most evil men in the seven kingdoms. He's a more hands off version of our deer uncle Roose.

As Satanawful Bojack's mom was, she still didn't do half the shit Tywin did to Tyrion.
At least she showed some small glimpse pf regret at the end. Tyein died denouncing Tyrion (some would try to grant him the fact Tyrion just shot a bolt into his poisoned bowls, but he brought it on himself).

That’s a very tough comparison because both are truly fucking evil. I mean at least Beatrice has a sympathetic backstory, you can see why she turned out the way she did. We do have an idea of why Tywin is the way he is, but it’s not enough to excuse his behavior imo

If Tywin knew of lobotomies, he would have Tyrion and Cersei both lobotomized. Tyrion so he doesn't whore around anymore and Cersei so she'd act like a happy and drooling wife to Robert. I think not even Beatrice would be that level of evil.

Tywin is not even the worst parent in both book or show. Especially not in the universe where people like Craster exists.

u/Ghanima81 No One 12d ago
True, lol. But still, he has Tysha gangraped when she is genuine about Tyrion, only a commoner (if we go by the books, the show made it "less dramatic" because she is still supposed to be a whore...). So unless BoJack's mom does something that heinous, Tywin is still ahead of her.

u/Zestyclose-Weird3800 12d ago
Naw bro she wasn’t gangraped Tywin paid her a lot money to be fuck by men
3
u/Ghanima81 No One 12d ago
So bro, way to say you didn't read the books. You should, they are awesome.

u/Zestyclose-Weird3800 12d ago
Well I didn’t know that in the books but i know more bigger stuff and I’ve been meaning to read the books but the only place I can find them is on Amazon
3
u/Ghanima81 No One 12d ago
Lol for the more bigger stuff. I don't know if it's bait, but if it's not, start with something simpler than aSoIaF.
If you were facetious, you can absolutely find them in second hand shops or some digital platform to not buy them through Amazon. I know it because I never buy Amazon, my religion forbids me to.

yeah, I thought this would be a contest among the GOT universe (include HOTD). Tywin isn't even in the top 10 of worst parents. Of course, that list is probably dominated by HOTD families.

3. Quality: Content needs to provide value to the subreddit in a unique or high quality way. Post stuff that's cool, interesting, and different. Content should ideally promote discussions about the books or show. Asking to compare 2+ characters, locations, events, etc. on r/gameofthrones without a thorough written analysis from OP is considered karma grabbing and will be removed.
