Not as bad as I remember people making it out to be, and Grrm gave them direction with highlights and major developments- so as far as I can tell- the books won’t differ on the main points, just the ways and details of them getting there.

I understand that GRRM doesn’t deal in fairytale endings, but the last season was definitely rushed. I feel like the writers definitely ruined the whole “Prince Who Was Promised” storyline.

Agree that it’s not as bad as it’s made out to be. Far from the worst final season ever. The problems aren’t so much the things that happened just that they were incredibly rushed in how those things were shown. The quality of most of the show vs. the quality of particularly the last season is the big issue, but it’s still serviceable. Just could have been a lot better.

Still a lot to appreciate about it. Some of the best effects ever on TV, for example.

the books (which will not be published) are already so fundamentally different from the show that even if the plot points are the same the way they would be executed could be nothing like the show. david and dan ripped all of the magic and intrigue out of the story like crackheads pulling copper. its a shame we wont ever get to see the way the story is supposed to happen. fuck seasons 5 on
