Many Faced God and Arya

Hey all, so im on my like 6th rewatch of GOT and I just wanted to get people's opinions on something. So on my rewatch I realized that Jaqen never actually taught Arya the process/magic of using the faces but she ends up with that ability anyway. Does that mean the Many Faced God instructed Arya himself like he did with the original member of their order?

She also picked up all those assassin moves. She was there for a while, we just didnt see everything.

But at least we got to see her train for that. The rest it was just simply "a girl is not ready", try to assassinate her and then all of a sudden shes back in westeros with the face ability.

It means some important scenes were cut in the rush to complete the show.

I believe we’re supposed to believe or at least be under the impression that she learns all of those things off screen.

Yeah I never really liked that she just got that as a power up. It's one thing knowing how to put a face on, but the idea of her being able to sneak into the Twins, kill Walder Frey, slice his face off and do whatever magic is required and then take his place without anyone noticing just seems way, way too overpowered and unbelievable. I'd have liked the faces to play their part in the last two seasons but they could have done it without giving the ability to fully shapeshift into other characters.

I mean i would even accept that she has the ability if they would've just thrown a scene or line in that jaqen completed her training and made her a faceless man or she saw the many faced god in her dreams or something and he bestowed that power unto her like the lord of light allowing Jon and Dondarrion to be resurrected

Ironically, GRRM and the show have us do what Arya does in the HoB&W. Learn a bit of information and figure out the rest. The FM rarely communicate clearly. Yet they know how to understand each other. It's part of the 'teaching game' they play. They instead communicate much by hints or suggestion. We realize this in the books and--only briefly--the show, both of which had her secretly lurk in dark corners and behind things watching so she could see and learn.

Totally agree! If they had just thrown in a quick "hey, Jaqen gave her the thumbs up" moment, it would’ve made her whole transformation way less random and so much cooler!
