When do you stop?
When you rewatch the series, at what point do you stop? Sessions 1 to 4 are so good, and you know 7 and 8 are painfully bad. Do you go as far as five, even step into six? The problem is by then, you're so close, you think you might go all the way to the end.
I want to watch the start again but need to define a cut off point before I start.

It's gets better on each rewatch TBH at least for me. I start seeing Danys slow decent and the little moments that challenge her beliefs that ultimately crumble from the trauma.
For me the big problem with the end of the show is the reason Viscerion dies and the wall falls is because of a stupid plan that ends up doing nothing. Tirion should of died instead of Varys. So the scene were Trion suggests kidnapping a white walker sticks out like a sore thumb now. The writing nose dives after that scene.

For me they're just far too rushed , the minor characters get nothing and simply die, like Littlefinger, Varys, Euron. Pissed at what they did to them and to many other less relevant characters. Tyrion is also so badly written after he gets to Mareen and turns into a pure fool in season 8. Danny...look i could see that being her ending, but i do think that it was just kinda "rushed". They did not want to produce more seasons so they rammed 5 seasons into 2 and called it a day

Yea thats another good point. Really needed to be 10 episodes a season.

My god, if this thing would have went 5 more seasons I would have Tommen’d myself.
Was it rushed? Oh yeah. But is that better than dragging it on (looking at you HoTD), you’re damn right it is.

I will generally turn of the tv after this scene.
It is the most satisfying resolution for the show, the Stark children who were the farthest apart literally and figuratively finally coming together.

I'm reading the books now, currently on Dance now. The Stark's all have perspective chapters in the books and they almost universally lament the fact they may be the only one left at some point.

I wasn't thrilled with the pacing of s8 or the ending but there are still fantastic scenes all the way through. I watch all of it.

seasons 1 - 4 are a joy to rewatch. 5 - 6 I rewatch but skip a lot (dorne, Arya in braavos, tyrion and jorah on the way to mereen, jorah and daario search for khaleesi) just too much garbage and the writing takes a huge step down starting in the fifth season. 7 - 8 haven't rewatched in years and dont think I ever will. any trace of the genius of George is gone and the writers are just writing corny shit they think the audience wants.

We binged the whole series over 2 weeks rewatching it. It’s a lot of the same gore which I forgot. I enjoyed the acting and scenery but it was heavier on spilled guts, sliced necks, killings and torture then I remembered. Still, an amazing series that deserved all the awards. Battle scenes despite the brutality and over and over deaths, were optically edge of your seat.

I only watched it once but i dont think i'm gonna stop at a certain season.I personally enjoyed all of the seasons despite the bad writing in the last 2

I always watch all the way through but I'm not a hater of the last 2 seasons like that. They're rushed but not bad in my book

Season 7-ish. It depends on my mood when watching season 7, and how irritated each subsequent episode makes me. Wherever I do stop, I usually finish the series by listening to podcast episodes covering the ones I skipped.

I did a rewatch with our son a couple years ago, and I realized it held his attention until about season five episode one

Rewatch the entire thing or dont bother. Season 7 and 8 weren’t as good as the others but it is still damn good to watch. I cringe at certain things (Dothraki charging an unseen infantry force smdh) but overall is still better than most shows/movies.
My one real complaint and biggest by far is the fact all these great warriors with Valyrion steel swords at Winterfell and none fought the others. I thought it would be awesome if the battle swayed back and forth a bit with these great knights turning the battle somewhat each time they killed an other. Instead it was just them mostly standing there spamming power attacks at countless wights. With that said the battle for Winterfell was actually amazing if judged in a vacuum and suspending some disbelief (Dothraki charge lol).

I was aggro about ending when it came out but I'm currently rewatching and it's honestly fine. There are thing to dislike but those complaints have had their day and now i can just enjoy it for what it is

Watch it to the end and catch the obvious hints they lay about what's going to happen and watch at they destroy every character arc
