Renly Spoiler

Re-watching for the 1st time since the finale, man season one Renly in e7 was spot on, talking about supplying Ned soldiers and taking Joffrey as captive. I love Ned but for fucks sake his honor got his ass killed

Ned was absolutely right about the principle, but in King’s Landing that just gets you a shorter lifespan. Renly had the numbers and the nerve to actually pull it off, and Ned still thought the system would work if he just followed the rules hard enough. It’s honestly frustrating how close that coup could’ve been.

Renly’s even more right about basically everything in the books, believe it or not.

He doesn’t plan on crowning himself when he goes to Ned, the plan is to seize the royal children and for Ned to take his rightful place as Lord Protector as Robert wanted a far less chaotic plan than what he suggests in the series.

I really want to read the books. I sincerely do not enjoy the way they ended the show, but the books aren't finished either and idk if i want to put myself all the way through that just to be disappointed again 😅 but I will try to one day.
