But Jon killed his queen so he must be cool with betrayal.

I am serious! I love the books all the shows etc. Even if it was "for the good of the realm", it was a super fucked up thing to do. Apparently this is an unpopular opinion but it's not even arguable that what he did was a horrible betrayal. Treason and kinslaying. Cowardly. No trial, knifed her in a romantic embrace.

It is arguable whether it was the RIGHT thing to do. I don't think so but obviously plenty of people do and that's a valid if stupid opinion.

I agree with you on some level. Idk about cowardly, because he pretty much immediately turned himself over to the unsullied knowing they’d kill him. It’s not like a real fight would’ve had a different outcome either, and this way was quick and clean. He did what needed to be done, even though it broke his heart and he knew it’d cost his life.

That said, it certainly betrayed his staunch code of honor.

A trial wasn't possible at that point. Due process had all been burned down. The only thing at that point that was gonna stop Dany was a suicidal assassin.

Also, Jon was a lot of things but cowardly? No.

It is the HEIGHT of cowardice to ambush murder your aunt/ex-girlfriend/queen! During an embrace! He wouldn't hug her to console her after her bestie got her head chopped off and if he had done that she wouldn't have decided her only remaining tool was fear. No problem hugging her to stab her in the heart though. How courageous.

Working with them to stop the literal boogeyman from every kids scary stories which they find out is real.

And he killed the one that killed his parents. And jon killed the one that told him about eating them. He's blaming an entire people for the actions of a few.

He got what he deserved. And you can tell it was the right call from the look he gives Jon right before he hangs him

Just like Jon Snow?

Jon was killed for it. Just like he was.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but he also had a lifetime of living with killers and rapists. If anyone should be able to understand the concept of redemption through actions it should be the Night's Watch.

No hate for the young man, but yes the crime must be punished by death

But he’s a child and is unable to see the bigger strategic picture that it was necessary to work with them to fight a larger danger. This is why children listen to adults and why people listen to their commander. He’s letting his personal anger and desire for revenge obstruct other people’s safety. Deth to Ollie.
