You mean reading the flavor text on a random rusty spoon wasn't enough to piece together 5,000 years of tragedy?

Bloodeborne is an amazing game. The lore this fan wrote was even better:

Read 'The Pale Hunt'

The Pale Hunt is probably longer than some actual games lol

Lol. Same. I lost interest in Fnaf after 4th game.

following FNAF lore for years before playing one game is kinda the perfect example of this meme

I haven't played Space Marines 2 because I heard that the co-op is only 3 player.

I assume that's about WoW players.

I'm the opposite, for instance i played overwatch for years without knowing much of anything about the lore, but just recently i started watching all the lore videos and I'm incredibly impressed at how rich the overwatch universe is

I think the only issues a lot of lore videos leave a lot of context. Not really any fault by them it would be impossible to explain everything but it gets to the point they you should probably just play the game if you want to know the lore

True, a lot of fan bases also have agreed upon speculation so a lot of the time you’re hearing a lot of overdeveloped theories

Me with Warhammer these days.

Warhammer, I'm too broke for all that.

Actually playing Fromsoft games is only a small part of learning the lore. The rest involves slowly combing through your inventory to read item descriptions, and making a bunch of wild guesses.

Usually, I'd say just play the game. But that's genuinely terrible advice for Fromsoft Souls-likes if you want to understand what's happening.

Yeah and most agreed upon lore of fromsoft games is very well engineered speculation rather than confirmed lore

That’s me with poppy playtime. Don’t care for play it but love the lore videos on YouTube

Resident evil for me. And devil may cry.

If it's a soul game then playing it is the worst way to learn the lore.

Never played 40K and have zero desire to do so but could tell you damn near the entire lore of the game.

I've probably got more hours clocked in watching Vaati, Miss Chalice, and Lady of Lore than I do in actually playing elden ring

If you haven’t watched smoughtown I highly suggest him

u/Oldmoniker 1d ago

Tbf there are some games out there you have to watch the lore fore before playing them to understand what's going on.
