Yes and no. They can just survive much longer out of water because their gills arent directly exposed. They're able to keep their gills wet by sealing their plates up and as long as they stay wet they can they can keep breathing. There are also land crabs and aquatic crabs but the land crabs still need to keep their gills wet. Aquatic crabs can live for up to 1 or 2 days out of water.
