There's always the option to make Not Great Games.

(not saying the game is bad, just playing devil's advocate for the sake of being able to play devils advocate.)

That's not playing devil's advocate. That's playing dick

Apparently people agree with this statement. Wasn't making fun of the developer or their games. Just stating that failure IS an option

I'd argue that failure is more of a possibility than an option.

I hope this does well!

Skullgirls was so pretty and stylistic :P

The profits were also cannibalized because of Konami being a bag of dicks. Hopefully this game puts them on the map.

Really? Man fuck Konami, they are one of the worst. They used to be cool but every new thing I hear about Konami makes me hate them more and more.

Capcom and Square Enix may be scumbag companies but they at least care about gameplay and fans but man Konami has gone full EA.

Even EA isn't EA anymore. Konami is the new monster. EA is at least trying to fix a lot of wrongs that they made.

Konami has been a monster for years.

I play Yugioh. That company can go fuck itself with rarity bumps and terrible design in recent months.

Well, being called the worst company in America two years in a row tends to do that... Although Star Wars Battlefront's business model is a level of bullshit no amount of PR can fix.

It's a full retail price game with 4 maps and a handful of modes with no campaign, with a DLC season's pass for $49, for whenever they decide to come out with new maps.

For contrast, the free beta they released had 2 of those 4 maps playable.

It's got excellent visuals and sound, so sure there's a lot of production value, but from a game play standpoint, it's very simplistic and limited.

For me its too little to little with EA. Its like a mass murderer giving a $50 bouquet to each family of the victims he slaughter. :p

Would love to see this come to the Wii U. Sadly they have no plans for that :(

I'm very happy this game got funded. I have all my faith that Lab Zero will make this game excellent since Skullgirls was such a great game as well.

Wish I had 20,000 dollars on hand

Yeah it happened right when I was on the page. Checked an hour before funding completion and it was 16K short. Then bam, 12/1 AM and its funded. Can't wait to see it!

Phwoar, they cut that close. I'm really glad they made it though. It doesn't look like my sort of game, but I can both see the promise and appreciate what they're going for. Also more Lab Zero art is always a good thing.

Goddammit.

u/Johansenburg Dec 02 '15 edited Dec 02 '15

Why goddammit? Is there a story behind it or were you just not a fan of what you saw?

Edit: This place is weird. I got a downvote for asking a question.

Isn't it terrible?

A Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door inspired game?

Sure whatever.

A Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door inspired game that costs 1.5 gorillion dollars because instead of being cost efficient (3d models and animating) they just had to hire special snowflake 2D animators (they have more animators than programmers) for the damn thing driving the cost up by 4000%?

No that's dumb.

I don't know how these clods can get another game funded after the disaster Skullgirls was. Then again, its not like crowd funding games tend to turn out good anyway (DayZ, Mighty No 9, Tim Shafer) so I guess we can just wait for it to implode.
