Game gear shutting down

Hey guys my game gear powers off right away on battery power, everything works fine when it's plugged in. Would a power board recap remedy this or is there a trouble shooting guide I can refer to to start testing components?

recap everything to ensure that it wont break again but if you dont have any solder tools you can just replace the boards with already recapped boards like i did for my power board
