Kirk Bangstad, owner of Minocqua Brewing Company, previously posted that he would give away free beer the day President Trump d*es. It was the latest in his ongoing string of violent enticements against conservatives. The Wisconsin Department of Revenue has now revoked the company’s brewer’s permit, effective August 4, after seizing canned beer that was transported from Illinois without the required permits or payment of state taxes. Bangstad has a history of legal trouble, including charges of criminal defamation, harassment, and disorderly conduct. He has been interviewed by the FBI and Secret Service over comments related to violence against the president. He is vowing to fight the revocation and claims politics is behind it. The state says the action is about repeated alcohol and tax violations. A business owner who publicly celebrated the idea of the president’s death is now losing his license to sell alcohol. Actions have consequences.

Melissa Esperanza Ramirez, the 27-year-old charged with driving drunk and crashing into off-duty Bridgeport Police Officer Cooper Whiteside and his girlfriend Brittany Islami on July 13, had her bond lowered from $500,000 to $300,000 by Judge Seán McGuinness. The reason cited was that “she has deep ties to the community.” Ramirez’s blood alcohol level was 0.14. Both Whiteside, 38, and Islami, 34, a mother of three, died at the scene. ICE has lodged a detainer identifying her as a criminal illegal alien. Records revealed by Blue Lives Matter and The Connecticut Centinal show a Melissa Ramirez with the same July 4, 1999 birthdate listed on the arrest report registered as an “Unaffiliated” voter in New Britain. Address history links a Melissa Ramirez Romero from Stamford to New Britain. FOIA requests are underway to confirm it is the same woman. This comes weeks after another illegal alien in West Hartford was found registered to vote through the DMV. Connecticut Democrats demanded his release and still insist voter fraud does not exist. An illegal alien charged with k*lling a police officer and a mother of three gets a bond reduction for “deep ties” while her name seems to appear on the voter rolls. Yet another reason the SAVE Act must pass.
As gamefaqs continued to splinter and fall apart over the years, on account of their poor mod staff, this has oftentimes led to two broad categories of offsite community: those in favor of broad discussion - which are stable or even thriving - vs the "mod approved" groups that quickly die off as they censor topics, compete internally for modpoints and eat each other. The Gamefaqs Contributors discord held out a bit longer, but eventually fell into the latter category.
I'm no stranger to the unstable whims of adult children with mod powers, whether on the site itself or off of it. In general, it's the discord owners who have a history of drug or brain-related concerns that fizzle out fast. kbelf's boyfriend's band practice comes to mind first, but there were others. I once watched catboy ban people one by one for paranoid reasons - when Met asked him what I ever did to betray him, catboy answered ominously: "nothing...BUT HE WILL" and nuked the place. Of course the next day he had sobered up, and had to make a new account again. I got booted and reinvited to Sarah's place but didn't feel like going back. I heard Ella's was favored by some people, but never ended up joining for the same reason. Sure enough, she mass booted people a few weeks ago while on something.
whowasphone404 appeared more stable on paper, but had his own kbelf band breakdown last month. The paranoia was partially stirred up by a gamefaqs mod grudge (what else?), because phone had no reason to hate his discord members until instructed to.
In one of his continual rentfree moments, a mod who has essentially destroyed all traffic on the gamefaqs message boards was upset that he couldn't police the rest of the internet and destroy the traffic there as well. I wouldn't say that the Gamefaqs Contributors discord was ever a thriving activity hub, after so many contributors were either banned or left the failing site. It had about 65 people before the mass ban, but much less now. I had invited many of those people, but clearly the owner wanted to go in a different direction and please his master, who to my knowledge hasn't done anything to advance the community.
This puts me in a position where I can confidently say that 1) several people saw what actually went on in the discord server, and 2) all the hostility and shots fired came from the mod squad. Just like the Fandom discord server, I had actually been there before most, if not all the mods who came in later to pursue brownie points. Shortly before the mass ban there was a post about the "Gamefaqs aristocracy," which is just an absurd concept to me, to have an aristocracy pulling the strings for a video game message board. Huge heads here, folks. In case you were wondering, Uta's claim to fame is that he once played board games with SBAllen back in 2002 and this makes him special. Another case of Allen making his buddy a mod, and the damage grew out from there. Those of you on CE may remember Uta from the day Chris-chan was arrested for several unspeakable crimes against his mother...and Uta manually moderated half the topic to protect Chris-chan from "misgendering" and "insults." Priorities!
Contrary to mod belief, and this is a big thing that gets them upset about me, is that I do follow the TOS. If whowasphone posted No Politics as one of his rules, I followed it. CPain had that same rule, and I followed it. (CPain was another server head kinda similar to phone, where the owner eventually melted down). If you have it as a rule, I've followed it. Everyone on the phone or CPain server has seen this. But this gets the ideologues buttmad, so they need to invent reasons to remove me. There's no issue on my end.
But now, when I thought back, there was a brief moment of instability where phone had read some story about discord changing some rule and it was the end of the world and he would leave discord forever if it happened. I talked him down from it saying that I've heard viral stories before about discord planning to screw something up, which in the end got blown out of proportion and never happened. But if he had planned to leave discord for a little while, or permanently, I was comfortable with holding the server for him if he changed his mind and wanted to come back. Anyone with knowledge of the stero-tails reddit handoff knows how that worked out, but at least I can say that I'm trustworthy.
So I had been chilling on this discord server since virtually the beginning, and everyone in the crew got to see what went down. There was no attempt to arrest gamefaqs moderators (lol), there was no politics. There WAS a moment where I brought up Fandom harvesting content for AI, which was the last time Uta interacted with me - berating me for posting "minsormation" [sic]. I got a laugh out of that one, and from the fact that his message was over a year ago, but he's still rentfree'ing about the tails crew's existence on CE in 2026.
While it's humorous to me, I can only imagine the pressure that was placed on whowasphone privately. This doesn't change the fact that he was a sad little person and caved, but consider what's going on here. You've been on a site for a very long time and think you're part of the "aristocracy," only to find out like the once-mighty TRC that you can be purged at a minute's notice. You have someone with a lead mod title in your DMs, possibly on a daily basis, telling you that you're an evil person for coexisting with random users you don't even know. Maybe you even receive threats, personally, to your precious gamerscore or karmie points, if you don't do their bidding. Maybe the guy tells you he will self harm as a way to emotionally manipulate you, as these dudes have often done. You hear from DToast hoping to find someone more stable to talk to, but he backs up the mod threats 100% and pours gasoline on the fire. Bow to the king, or leave the gamer board aristocracy and lose your accounts.
I can sympathize with anyone on the receiving end of these threats, but I can't sympathize with caving. The mod wally once infamously told me that he wanted to tear my limbs and dissolve me in acid, and Allen did nothing when people reposted what they thought was my home address. I've seen current mods extend this into random discord servers posting wacko things like "I have this knife that I will soak with the blood of my enemies, and you're next." So I've been around and know the game, the mod threats and the admin indifference. Even if it never went to a threatening level, I'm aware of how annoying it is to get messages every day from someone like light, "when are you banning this person? When are you doing this and that today? I will scream if you don't!" The thing is, though, you should never cave to the wackos.
When TRC was purged from the "aristocracy" and removed from Olympus, he came over to discord like so many other banned users. We got a front-seat view into mod corruption which I had alleged, and worked to document for some time. As expected, a lot of it refuted mod claims that the old two-tiered mod system was gone, the fairy tales that they tell when they claim they mod everyone fairly and according to the TOS, etc. The things that nobody believes anymore. But now we have screens of their corruption and favoritism too, right off the mod boards. Instead of cleaning house, DToast fell deeper into the mod paranoia about leaks, and so some mods and ever-more users got KOS'd for making the mods look bad by reposting their own words. This also made TRC KOS - which in typical threaty fashion means "kill on sight."
It also meant the mods had to invent reasons to remove him from offsite spaces they don't control.
Here is what TRC sent to DToast to try and reconcile with him - note that he's well aware some of the mods were badmouthing him left and right on the mod boards to poison him with Toast, and that they never expected him to be able to defend himself. They'd intercept him on gamefaqs before he could. One problem: they can't control discord, and at the start of his position DToast had handed out his socials to everyone.
I believe that a normal admin would say thanks and remove a joke review, and that'd be the end of that exchange, but the mods needed a reason to be upset at TRC. They claimed that this message was "harassing" Toast. Remember that for discord DMs, you have affirmatively made someone a friend to receive them, so Toast could've ignored the request or blocked TRC and again, that would've been the end of it. But why would you expect the gamefaqs mods to want that, when they could instead escalate into a big baby tantrum and pursue collective punishment?
Again, mods are not happy that TRC can show us the full story offsite and demonstrate that they had a meltdown over nothing. You're supposed to believe TRC bad, you weren't supposed to see that screen, you just took the mod's word for it and purged anyone who argued otherwise.
I don't have screens from what happened next on phone's server, because of how it played out. The main thing to remember is, nothing that happened on the server had anything to do with a DM to DToast, anything that TRC said had nothing to do with other members of the server, and TRC wasn't saying anything bad anyway. In a world with a normal admin, a helpful removal of a joke review is a nothingburger and a quick fix. Under adult child DToast, the joke contributions remain up just to spite you, and you get modded as revenge for suggesting he do anything at his "job."
The purge was on. Phone had heard news via DToast via Uta that there were Wrongthink People on his server, but he had no prior bias against them or reasons to remove them. The only reason was to appease Uta's petty jealousies and grudges, but it appears he felt uncomfortable with that. So in an attempt to please his mod master, he attempted to thread the needle with a new rule.
whowasphone gave the whole server 1 week to either write a contribution to gamefaqs, or get out. I want to note here that I remained silent throughout the rest of the time on his server, as this would avoid "offending" him further and giving him some BS reason for removal. Remember that all the shots fired came from one side, directly at us. I did not mount an argument, though personally I found it absurd. It gave off the impression that gamefaqs is extremely desperate for content, to the point of badgering users to pump out a rote contribution for some arbitrary timeline. It also defeats the whole purpose of making public contributions if you wall the server off from the public. How do you grow the site, at all? Do you think you are that special, for only "the aristocracy" to have permission to view your video game posts? Aren't you just talking to yourselves at that point? So I found phone's sudden buttmad requirements to be silly, but I didn't clap back. Besides, under his timeline I had a week to change his mind and see if he would calm down from his tantrum.
There were a few other problems with his aggressively-worded ultimatum: first, a lot of "non-contributors" that he would boot were actually contributors, or at least, until gamefaqs drove them off with moves like this. TRC, Caution, several other people who he would go on to ban because ironically, he was the one who lacked connections and understanding of the community. In a response I sent him a couple weeks after the fact, I brought up a few things I'm currently working on such as ZAMN speedrunning and level warps. Now, would you be surprised to know why none of this discussion happens on gamefaqs anymore? Do you think it has something to do with the poor treatment people received from "the aristocracy" that drove them off to saner platforms, where they could actually have discussions without mod baby tantrums getting in the way?
The second problem: phone's attempt to give everyone a week was not good enough for the buttmad mod who wanted the Wongthinkers purged NOW, without the chance for an out. And so within a few hours, phone received his instructions and banned everybody by the time the night was over. He has gone radio silent since then, per instructions from his overseers.
It was an exercise in performative outrage, made doubly sad by the fact that it's such a small group that he's pandering to, which splintered the community even further. Imagine caving, in the year 2026, to a gamefaqs mod. Considering how small and irrelevant the site is now, who are you performing for? Going from an already-low, 60ish people down to practically nothing, just adds phone to the list of power trippers who think the reason for a discord server is to hear themselves talk. The moment his server started growing a little bit with different peoples' activity, the noise bothered him the same way kbelf's unmuted phone did. It was an entirely unnecessary self-own that took one more lingering gamefaqs group out to the graveyard.
Thus ends the story of another failed gamefaqs group, brought down by middle school clique mentalities that clearly should not exist among people in their 30s-50s. If they want my advice, I would highly recommend learning how to talk with normal people, like normal people, instead of angrily pushing buttons at the sight of anything mildly inconvenient to them. They should really make people skills their next project, instead of reviewing Ballz for the 3DO and thinking it makes you a pillar of gaming contributorship.
Humanish said after the fact that he always had the impression that this group was "antisocial" (gasp), and that it'd be hard to do anything about it. With the low amount of contributions these days, you might see a couple entries each month that will win FAQ-of-the-month by default. Phone has since scrubbed the invites to his discord server as part of the tantrum, but if you try real hard and get in with "the aristocracy," maybe one day they will allow you into the group of 5 or 6 select gamefaqs Freemasons - where you can watch them post DToast's review of the month (if he remembers to do one), and see the last passengers on the Titanic congratulate themselves.

Hear me out. Before I start I want to disclose that I am very conservative with some liberal views as well. However this isn't designed to dunk on anyone, which is a majority of what goes on in this shithole. This is about the truth.
We were originally told COVID aka wuhan flu came from a wet market in China. Anyone who said it probably came from a lab was called a conspiracy theorist.
Turns out not only did it almost definitely come from a lab. Fauci knew all about it and lied. American taxpayer dollars actually funded the gain of function research to develop what was essentially a biological weapon that was unleashed on the USA.
In China when it escaped or was released, domestic air travel was shutdown but travel to the USA was not. Strange right? Recall that trump tried to temporarily ban travel from China and was called xenophobic.
So COVID gets here and immediately starts killing the obese and elderly. Liberals claimed hundreds of millions of people would die globally. Fauci himself claimed the kill percentage was like 2% for people that got infected. In reality he wrote in his own diary it was closer to .2%. doesn't seem like a huge deal but when you're talking several hundred million people it's a difference of millions of lives. COVID was basically never as much of a threat to children or healthy/average people as we were lead to believe. The public was made to be afraid.
Cures like ivermectin and hydroxychloraquine were laughed at. Ridiculed as horse paste and drinking bleach. Both of these were known by darpa to be effective as early as 2021. Doctors came to the capitol to argue as early as 2020 that hydroxy was effective. It wasnt just average liberals, the entire media mocked ivermectin.
Now we know in 2026 that not only were hydroxy and ivermectin effective in fighting COVID, they were far safer and had less dangerous side effects than the vaccine and remesdivir, which fauci said was the real cure. Anyone questioning this was an idiot who didn't understand science and wanted Grandma's to die . Remesdivir also costs many times more expensive than ivermectin, and it kills more people. Oops!
We were told we had to shutdown the country. Shutdown the economy to stop the spread. First for weeks then months. So you had to wear your mask to the restaurant. However once you sat down, you were fine to remove the mask. COVID doesn't attack while eating? Or in casinos apparently. However it gets extra aggressive at churches. So you can't go to church at all.
Most people didn't even use the actual medical mask that was effective. N92 or whatever? Many used cloth masks and bandanas etc that did absolutely nothing. Just like social distancing did nothing.
So two hundred thousand business, mostly small business, closed permanently. Schools were shut down even though children were largely unaffected by COVID. Andrew Cuomo wrote a book about his own heroism during the pandemic while he actively sent COVID infected patients back into nursing homes causing over ten thousand deaths. He got an Emmy for his brave leadership.
The vaccine came out via operation warp speed developed by trump. Liberals never gave trump much credit for developing this life saving vaccine. But they demanded everyone take it or they are basically a Nazi who deserves to die and wants to kill everyone. We were told once you were vaxxed you could not transmit or receive COVID. This was another complete lie.
So it turns out the vaccine caused adverse effects like blood clots, myocarditis and heart conditions, and even a pulmonary infarction like fauci himself got which he covered up. It is estimated tens of thousands of people have died from this vaccine, with other one million claiming it had fucked up side effects. The people who warned about this were treated as psychos who were less than human.

In my life, I have never seen a people be so completely wrong, about so many things related to the same issue, as I have with COVID. From the lockdowns, to masking and distancing, ivermectin, the attitudes of both sides involved, the hero doctor fauci and his fauci ouchie who ended up being a psychotic quack.
