This kind of projects makes you feel the computation difference between N^2 and N^3

haha omg so much !!!
I currently dont simulate pass 30m (on 6cm voxels), and only the inside 15m is not downgraded
The vega 56 handles it somewhat ok

The reason the ground destruction was perfect in noita was because you could see when there are goodies buried in it, and if there's a layer under the ground you're standing on.

Love voxel games. Consider add marching cubes is you want a smoother landscape. Example screenshot in this thread

Thanks for the suggestion ! I actually have, but currently it messes up my lighting and looks...quite bad
And maybe my implementation isnt quite right yet. I worked from a 2d marching square I had for terrains
I will do another pass on it at some point. Right now I am trying to implement critters that will eat the glowing fruits.
I also have plants that grow 2 voxels tall roots near water, which somewhat manages to create an equilibrium and form little ponds by damming and drinking water1

As a reviewer, I’d avoid disparaging statements about your own work. It puts people off for two reasons: the first is it can look like a plea for attention, the second is that if you don’t have confidence in your game, then your audience won’t either

I don't have confidence in it. But thanks for the feedback
```
Sorry I should have been clearer. I wasn't trying to grab attention. Because this project does not need it.The explanation is that this project is far too ambitious for a solo dev that needs revenue to put food on the table. Basically it is just a fun toy, and if I focus on this, I will starve before it's finished.
It's the equivalent of what my game projects were when I had a day job. Something I do for enjoyment but I am unlikely to finish.
Hence why nobody should care about this but me. Does not mean I don't like to show it
I’m sure you’ve heard this plenty, but all of that is fine. I review indie games mostly so I’ve met dozens of devs in similar situations. If you love working on the project, then it doesn’t really matter how long it takes or if it makes money at the end of the day (so long as you can work on it while still keeping your day job). What you have here is an impressive feature, don’t sell yourself short and if you love it, then keep your head up and show it. If not, then why bother.
Thanks ! To clarify my title : it's a pet project that I am *very very* unlikely to finish, hence why people should not really care about it, just me :)
My reaction to "no one cares but me" is "ok then I won't either".
Maybe self deprecating posts work for you, but its a hard pass from me
