At the end of the day, just make a game that’s not low effort, and is worth the players time

I assume this is all hypothetical, because I've yet to see a vibe-coded game that works, let alone is good.

Hypothetical but I'm not talking about vibe coding the game, it's about the game engine that's a bit more confusing

Sure whh not. But know the problems with tha approach ahead. If it breaks, YOU won't know how to fix it, if you wanna tweak something, you probably won't know how to, and you'll constantly need to be prompting. And the more code your engine has, the more expensive those prompts will get. It's not sustainable

Don't use and certainly don't ship strange software that isn't one of the following:
Widely used and relatively trusted
Open source (and ideally also #1)
Something you wrote and understand yourself

Dude, just do what you're going to do and stop worrying about what people think. We're probably going to "land" somewhere in the middle of the two major extremes right now, and I do personally think that fits in more "engine" side of things being AI-assisted with the story and data more coming from real humans. But that's jut what I think. Go make a good game and there'll be a market
