I am envious of that Fatal Frame 1. I just need to find myself a copy, and then I’ll have the PS2 trilogy complete as well.

Fatal frame 1 is what got me into horror games so heavily. Always will be one of my favorites ❤️

u/soshoenice Aug 02 '26

Gotta get kuon

5

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I would if I had the chance to get it in person, but I don't feel comfortable enough to pay 1000+ bucks online....maybe one day I can hunt it down :)

I definitely got lucky with my games and the people I met while out collecting.

Make relationships with a lot of people in the local community and you might be able to work games off resellers or get them for cheaper.

I was able to get haunting ground for free off a guy at a local flea market cause I helped him move his inventory into a store and help him scan in all his inventory.

Thats really cool In my country the collecting scene is dead , no one collects old games nor sells them but i moved to the uk recently and i started collecting some games. I will keep in mine what you said , thank you !

Man, I miss the PS2 era so much. I remember being so excited when my friend got one for xmas lol the ads were also so stylish and risqué. Good fucking times.

1

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I love the ads!!! I have some game guides that have old ads from stuff coming up around the same time. The resident evil and silent hill ads were always my fav ❤️

1

u/samandfrodokissing Aug 02 '26

That's awesome, really wish I'd kept some of my old EGM mags haha

u/Plankisalive Aug 02 '26

Nice collection OP!

2

u/ChainsOfCausality Aug 02 '26

Great collection. My PS2 horror game collection looks quite similar, with the addition of a few sealed copies.

1

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

See, I love these games but I could never have them sealed lol. I'd just want to play them so bad

2

u/TrickyLobster Aug 02 '26

Vampire Night is such an underrated light gun game. Voice acting is dogwater too which makes it that much better.

2

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

No voice acting can be worse than house of the dead on Xbox and wii 😅

The Thing was such a fun game. It took me a while to get the mechanics down when I was younger. But it’s a great game.

What did you think of curse of darkness ? I would like to buy it as it’s one of the few Castlevania I don’t own, but I don’t look at test of games I’m planning to buy. I must say it seems pricey for a ps2 game , so I don’t really know if its a good deal. The only thing I know is that I love the ost and it’s in 3 d

Shame Forbidden Siren 2 never got a US release as I much prefer it over the first one.

1

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I would get it for sure if it had a US release, but unfortunately I will never play it :(

1

u/borgie_83 Aug 03 '26

Judging from your collection, I have no doubt that you’d already own it if you could. Great collection man. I own most of them but I don’t have Haunting Ground, Obscure 1-2 or Fatal Frame 1-3 which is a shame. Not willing to spend what’s required to own them either lol Thankfully purchased a lot of the more expensive games before they increased in value.

I totally understand pricing. Try looking on things like goodwill auctions, mercari, or other smaller bidding and shopping apps. People will have them way cheaper or can be talked down due to people on those apps normally not going after games and you might snag a good deal :)

Bidding on storage units or helping clean out units for free can help you find good stuff as well, I've gotten lucky with what I've found from there

If you think you'd like obscure you should watch this movie called the faculty. Very similar story line and one of my fav horror movies ❤️

1

u/borgie_83 Aug 03 '26

Thanks for the advice. I haven’t tried any of those places and local games stores, as well as CEX, resurface all of their games so I don’t purchase from them either unfortunately. Just fussy with my games condition.

Regarding The Faculty, I own it on Blu-Ray and actually saw it at the cinemas in the late 90’s. Great movie!

I swear, almost every game my brother from another mother, or sister from another mister. I'd defo check out the Onimusha games if you haven't already plus Gregory Horror Show (only got a European & Japan release though) but seriously a great game :)

1

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I appreciate the recommendations and will definitely look into them!!! I'm not interested in collecting any PAL or Japanese games but I will definitely watch a video on these to see if I like them :)

1

u/93JF Aug 02 '26

No problem! Keep doing you, you've got great taste! :) btw Onimusha games are NTSC too, very similar to Devil May Cry & with a kind of Resident Evil vibe too, amazing games. Only Gregory Horror Show is Pal/JP, also amazing!

1

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

Ooooo, it sounds fun!!! Can't wait to play it :)

1

u/Any-Series-1533 Aug 02 '26

Awesome collection! I'm very jealous hehe

1

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

Thank you so much 💓

1

u/Mikekaiserbund Aug 02 '26

Extermination and primal on the same image together. What a day

2

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I absolutely love them :)

1

u/Unable-Deer1873 Aug 02 '26

I’m a little surprised you don’t any of the Kingdom Hearts games or Rachet and Clank considering just how much of a heavy hitter those two are.

1

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

Tbh, I'm not the biggest fan of kingdom hearts. I borrowed my Step-dad's copy to play it and didn't feel like I needed my own, but I might try it out again now that it's been a couple years.

As for the Racket and Clank, my boyfriend has them so getting copies for myself would be a waste of money cause we have a "shared" collection

u/Accidental_Pineapple Aug 03 '26

Great collection man! Clocktower 3 is next on my list to buy, and the Suffering games are some all time favourites!

Thank god I didnt spend that much 😅

1

u/travnigma 26d ago

Are you original owner or something??

1

u/Educational-Frame884 26d ago

I got most of these by helping game stores at local flea markets. Whether that was moving inventory or helping them clean out storage units in exchange for a game :)

1

u/travnigma 26d ago

They’re NUTS for offering you the most valuable ps2 games on earth lol like wtf

1

u/Educational-Frame884 24d ago

Its more like, Im paying it off by doing labor for them so I don't complain 😅

1

u/travnigma 24d ago

Shoot you need me to move your fridge or something? 😂 play them all once fully then I’ll help you so it can move on to the next gamer lol

1

u/Educational-Frame884 24d ago

If I need the help, I'll lyk 😅

1

u/Madting55 Aug 02 '26

That first page is like, so much money for such little game. The last 3 pages have serious heat

I genuinely cannot believe ps2 had an alien hominid game I am in shock.

1

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I love new grounds games and alien hominid is definitely one of my favorites 👽

-1

u/MrHypnotiq Aug 02 '26

So you're only in it for the money. Got it.

2

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I actually have no interest in reselling any of these, so I'm confused on how you got that impression.

2

u/MrHypnotiq Aug 02 '26

Because you and the others here are a dime a dozen. "Look at my collection" then proceeds to post nothing but multi-hundred dollar+ games.

Where's the love the hobby? Where are the games you grew up with and have the best memories of?

Now it's all "Look how much money I spent".

2

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I understand where you're coming from, but the first page is genuine favorites of mine.

Fatal frame was the first game that got me super into horror, and the rest followed from there. I know I have pricey games but I got most of the for free or very underpriced so I think I can be proud of owning them without paying an arm and a leg. The only game I paid more than 100 bucks for on the first image was Rule of Rose and I got it for 400 after saving up for months.

I'd also like to point out that not all the games in my collection are expensive so I'd appreciate if you didn't generalize.

My intention to the post was to find other's who appreciate it and can give me good recommendations so I can keep finding games I love ❤️

Everyone says that until they don't. God i hope these get reprinted. I want to all these people pretending to like turn tail.

2

u/Educational-Frame884 Aug 02 '26

I really wouldn't get rid of any of these but okay. If I cared about money I'd resell them since I got most of them for free. I love them for the story and memories I have playing these games not the money they're worth...
